Title: Strauss Discount Auto
Post by: Marc82 on August 02, 2006, 07:50:01 PM
They took over Motomart. Then closed a few years later. They're some where in the New York City metro area as I see them advertising during the Yankees Games on the YES Network.

This was a chain that used to be around in Torrington but they closed mine along with a few other stores.

It was a car parts chain like Advance Auto and AutoZone etc.

LOL I still remember their radio commercials when they were around my area the voices of cars saying "Strauss, Strauusss,strauuuuuuusssssssss,strauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..". kchink(sound of cars engines falling apart)

they used to scare me when I was young!
I think the ads were supposed to tell you to listen to what your car wanted before its too late/when your car dies out which was to get parts at "Strauss Discount Auto"

LOL silly huh?

alas they are still around just not around my area

heres their current logo they've never changed at all.

are there still any in CT, and what was their service like?

where they good. advertising them during yankee games is creative.

Yep, they are only a NJ/PA/NY Chain now, although im sure the PA stores "struggle" against the "hometown" PepBoys. All their stores except three in PA are in Philadelphia itself, while PepBoys and new chains to the area like Advance and AutoZone are mostly in the suburbs.
