Title: Westland Mall, Columbus OH may be torn down
Post by: busman_49 on December 10, 2015, 09:09:00 AM
The mall opened in 1969 with over 800,000 square feet of space, but started to decline in the late 1990s.  By the mid-2000s, only a handful of stores were left inside the mall.  As of 2012, only Sears and a Staples were left at the mall, and they both sealed off their mall entrances.  Staples closed recently, leaving only Sears, who as of right now has no plans to close.

Never been there.  I've lived north and east of town during my couple of stints in C'bus.
I do have fond memories of lunch and Christmas shopping at Woolworth's at Northland
many years ago.

I lived there from 2007 through most of 2013 and I never made it a point to get over there.  I wish I had.
