i nodiced we dident hvae a topic 4 this they have soem good stuff but most of it is monderd sweedish furnture i also tent to hear alot of abba and ace of base songs playing in there stores too lol:P
I was at Ikea for the first time a few weeks ago for a TV stand. This store was huge! It must have been at least 2 1/2 Wal-Mart Supercenters together sized.

YES!!! there stores are soooop big thats why theres not so many stores in teh US

So I just had my first Ikea experience today. For anyone who hasn't been, it's definitely a revolutionary type of shopping, and their swedish meatballs are awesome. It's like a Kohl's or Sears, but different. You walk in and there is a playland to dump your kids when you shop. You go upstairs, and get a map of the building. The top floor full of furniture / bed / bath displays. Everything you can possibly pick up or touch is available and has a tag on it. You write down the part # and aisle and slot # for it and go on your way. The path around everything goes in consecutive order by departments. When your done you can eat cheap food at the bistro, then go downstairs, where you once again walk a path through departments, but this time no display models, smaller commodities you can put in your cart. After you make your way through you enter, literally a full size warehouse where you track down the items you marked off while you were upstairs. The coolest thing is it isn't like waiting for them to get it, like a typical warehouse, you get it yourself and put it on your own flat cart. Then you checkout and can back your car into designated loading spaces with free twine.
By far the coolest thing I experienced here was their shopping carts. All four wheels are on swivels, so you can move it in absolutely any direction.
The one thing I was expecting about this place was that it was going to cost a fortune, but surprisingly everything is at your typical Wal-Mart prices or lower! It's definitely a new and more effective way to shop.
There's one not to far from me in Atlanta I haven't been yet but have been wanting to go. You just made me want to go more now.

Hehe awesome. I definitely recommend it! Again, the quad swivel carts are crazy. If there was a shopping cart olympics, they would win.
It figures that we have none around here, but there may be hope for the future as more chains are discovering "TN" and opening more stores.
