These are beginning to pop up in CT now. A great place for a burger. Fast, easy, terrific service, a bit pricey though.
3 of 7 in my neck of the woods occupy places which didn't last all that long, Mystic (former Quiznos for a year or so), East Lyme (Former Wendy's which was built brand new and only stayed open for about a year as well), and Middletown (Former Old Glory store, they moved down the road and still in business)
With other restaurants closing, their website states over 200 restaurants will open this year.
Yea theres one up here n Nashua NH havent been hurd its really good tho
They're in Farmington, CT across from Tunxis College. They're always jammed. They replaced Uncle Sam's Restaurant which moved to Route 229 in Bristol down the street from ESPN going towards Bristol.
To give a bit of history, Five Guys started up in the 80's in Alexandria, Virginia, and up until 3-4 years ago, kept a very low profile. They have expanded like crazy since, and open up a new location pretty much every week it seems. Kingston and Poughkeepsie have a location. Albany has about 5. Saratoga Springs and Glens Falls have one as well.
Obama is in Nashua toaday and its rumored hes at Five Guys right now
Yeah. I heard he loves his cheese burgers.
I am in the DC area currently, and I can vouch there are a lot of Five Guys in the area... AWESOME burgers.
There is one opening in Enfield CT too.

Finally ate at the five guys in Nashua, NH on my way home from work. I ordered the little cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoe, onion and pickles topped with ketchup and mustard. Added a small fry and a soda for just under $10.00
It was pretty AMAZING although there was so many french fries I threw half of them away.... Sad cause they were SO GOOD! ;D
Yes, it wouldn't be bad IF the fries were just what fit into the cup they have, but they always seem to wind up with another cup worth (or more) loose in the bag.
They need a new "Fries for One" size!
Healthy burgers and cheaper than some fast food places.
OMG-had my first visit on our way to Atlanta and I can see why people rave about them. The best fries I've ever had!!! ;D
One is opening in Keene, NH in the former Strawberries/FYE
Still haven't eaten there yet, but the one in Farmington, CT was jammed on Saturday and it wasn't even Noon yet. My bank has a branch across the street from them so I could see their parking lot from the bank.
New one just opened in an old "Diner Car" style restaurant in Groton, CT. It's huge and they did a really nice job remodeling the place.
Props to these guys for finding places which need restaurants to occupy, rather than building yet another building.

There is also one in Manchester in part of the old Tweeter I believe.
Just found out that we are lucky enough to have one here in Memphis now! (Let's hope we can hold onto it.) :) :)
Five Guys is opening a new location in Norwich, CT. It is going to be in the former Tim Horton's/Coldstone Creamery building.

Here's something you don't see often (or at all???) - a failed Five Guys franchise.

^ That's heinous, and Five Guys has always good food in my opinion!
They need to open a Five Guys in Southington, CT. There's no place in town to get a decent burger. Perhaps they can go in the former Ponderosa.
The Maine Mall area is getting a Five Guys; this would be the second in Greater Portland (the other is in Portland's Old Port.)

Forgot to mention that Five Guys recently opened in Bangor. Do you get the feeling they might be expanding a bit too quickly?

It would seem that way but I've never been in a location (or driven by one) that wasn't busy. Seems like the product is doing well and the locations are staying busy.
It's such a better product than Burger King/Wendy's/McDonald's and still around the same price point, I don't see how they can lose.

Maybe it was the fact that their food is far more greasier than foodstuff from McDonald's/Burger King/Wendy's! But it's still better tasting than the food from the usual suspects!

5 guys greasier than McDonald's??? Are you kidding??
^It's true, if you get food from Five Guys to go you could seen more grease spots on the bag than if you were to get food from McDonald's!

Can't believe that...
Five Guys is hoping to open in 2016 in the former Panera Bread location in Town Line Square in Meriden, Connecticut.
Chain hamburger restaurant to fill Panera vacancy in Meriden

MERIDEN â€" Five Guys Burgers and Fries will replace Panera Bread at Townline Square on South Broad Street.
Panera Bread, a national sandwich and soup chain, is moving into a newly constructed building adjacent to Chick-fil-A on North Colony Road (Route 5) in Wallingford. As part of the move, Panera closed its location in Townline Square less than a mile north on Route 5 up the road in Meriden on Thursday.
A Five Guys representative tweeted Friday in response to the question of whether it was opening a location in Townline Square. “Yes! We hope to have it open next year!â€
Five Guys moving in is “good news†for Meriden, city Economic Development Director Juliet Burdelski said. “Everyone I know loves Five Guys. Of course it’s disappointing about Panera moving, but it’ll be right down the street.â€
Five Guys Burgers and Fries opened in the Washington, D.C. area in 1986, and soon spread from there, according to the company’s website. There are more than 1,000 locations in 47 states and six Canadian provinces, with more than 1,500 other locations in development.
The chain has 22 locations currently in the state, with the closest being two in New Haven and one in Middletown.
The company prides itself on using “fresh ground beef,†and not using anything frozen, according to the website.
Jacob Berger, of Hampton Properties of Montreal, Canada â€" the company hired to manage Townline Square â€" said Friday morning that negotiations were underway with a “big chain in the state†to fill the space.
Because the lease negotiations are ongoing, Berger said he couldn’t disclose details about the restaurant. He did say that it would “occupy about three-quarters†of the Panera restaurant space. He also characterized the new business as “a hamburger restaurant.â€
Berger estimated an opening by mid-2016.
Roseanne P. Ford, vice president of membership services for the Midstate Chamber of Commerce, noted the quick turnaround time for the location.
“It’s great news to have the space filling so fast. It’s great that that plaza is just booming and bustling with tremendous activity. Hopefully that’s a good sign that things are turning around in this area,†she said.
Burdelski said, “This is a popular chain, so it shows that Townline is a strong entity and they can sell space there. There’s always turnover in retail, but they and the mall too are doing a good job of continuing to fill those spaces.â€
She also said the influx of offices in the area should also spell good news for business.
“With all the new offices on that side of town, having another hot food place is going to be really good. It’s a good sign for that whole South Broad Street corridor,†Burdelski said.
When it was announced Panera would be vacating the space, there was some initial speculation that a Five Guys restaurant would be moving in. A representative tweeted in August that “it (looked) like†there had been a deal in place, but it didn’t go through at the time.
A spokeswoman from Panera Bread said its new location at 1094 N. Colony Road should open by Nov. 18.
I don't know about everyone else, but Five Guys has the best burgers and fries I've ever had in my life, not to mention that the Coke Freestyle machines are cool as hell! Orange Sprite anyone?
Great food, but a little pricey. Occasionally my wife & I will treat the family or we'll get a late-evening meal for ourselves.
Finally tried one the other night.
Whoa! Twenty-five bucks for two burger-with-fries meals?
I won't be back.

Unless they have changed over time, you could cut that a bit by ordering only one small fries and still have more than two average people could eat. They had a way of putting the fries in the cup in a bag and then more or less filling most of the remaining space in the bag with more fries, such that you wound up with more fries outside the serving cup than were actually inside of it!
