Title: Fresh Thyme Farmer's Market
Post by: Hudsons81 on November 13, 2015, 10:59:51 PM
Discuss the new Meijer concept that puts main emphasis on produce.

One just opened back in July in the Troy Commons Shopping Center in Troy, Michigan, adjacent to a new Tuesday Morning.

My wife likes to go here.  She's big into the natural & gluten free stuff.  I've been in a couple of times; the stores are nice and I think the prices are comparable to Kroger for the same stuff.

They just opened 2 locations near me.

- Bridgeville, PA (Great Southern Shopping Center, in a former Bottom Dollar location)

- Pleasant Hills, PA (Southland Shopping Center)

Did not go anywhere near the grand opening as they were giving away a free
bag of groceries to the first 250 customers.  Wanted no part of that mob scene!

Some independently owned, long-time local upscale/organic grocers
(John McGinnis, McGinnis Sisters, The Uncommon Market, etc.) have closed-up
shop in the wake of all this new competition from out-of-town chains.
