Family Dollar has announced that they will close around 600 stores by the end of 2024 and will allow leases to expire on an additional 370.

They cite persistent inflation which has taken a bite out of the purchasing power of their lower-income customer base as the primary reason.

One reason why Family Dollar may be closing so many stores.

A lot of them are in really tough areas.

This one in Pittsburgh was robbed by the same guy three times in a week.

Would not be shocked to see it wind-up on the closing list then.  This is terrible for the people who live in these neighborhoods because they lose what little options they have to buy necessities.
