Title: Stupid job titles/names for store employees
Post by: KmartDanny09 on June 24, 2008, 11:43:35 PM
What are some of the weird names that you've heard store employees/managers called, or just wierd job titles for retailers?

1) K-Mart: Managers are called "Coaches." Department managers are called "Captains." All other employee names are pretty standard.

2) Meijer: Managers are called "Store Directors"

3) Jo-Ann Fabrics: Employees are called "Team Members." Management are "Team Leaders"

4) Kohl's cashiers are called POS Operators... I'm surprised thats the "official" names, especially with a double meaning...

Subway calls their employee's "Sandwich Artists."  When I used to work there we used to joke, what if you made a salad... Were you a "Salad shooter?" :insane:

I once had a camp counselor who worked at a Wal-Mart distribution center as a "Night Stocker"! Of course, if you say that out loud, a different thing might come to mind.

I've also heard Taco Bell calling their employee "Food Champs!"

Our manager has also become title crazy... all cashiers have "Register Operator" on their name tags, hardlines people have "Hardlines Specialist," Softlines people have "Soflines specialist" and service desk has 'Register Supervisor" on there nametags. Kinda stupid... I think!
