I cannot understand why the Colonie ShopRite became a dumping ground for so many used shopping carts, many of which came from Downstate locations. Up until last year, it had a fairly uniform fleet of metal Unarco carts from 2013 and Technibilt Renaissance carts from 2018.

Would have been much more unsurprising to see them do this with the Albany (lower Central Ave.) store, given the area that it is in where you might expect people to try and take the carts off the property (either to bring stuff home or just to keep for themselves).

As of now, that eventually happened. There were some wire carts added in, and a large number of Unarco PC41Us added in which have very ghetto paint jobs.

And to top it off, Colonie ordered more Technibilt Renaissances (labeled as Wanzl) and got a large number of rusted 2012 Technibilt 6542 carts. Niskayuna got these metal rustbuckets as well.

UPDATE: All the junk carts (and the store's original 2013 Unarco M90ZXs) are gone and have been replaced with grey 2022 Unarco PC42s with white lettering. They still have the TB Renaissance carts, including a 2016 with black lettering when they first got the junk carts.
