I finally got a chance to check this place out for the first time in years. It is pretty dead deader than it was when I saw it last they still have signage for Hoyt's Theater and to my surprise the movie theater is still running now first run movies. This place after Burlington Coat Factory closes is going to be home to 2 hair salons and a little nic-nacs store. I can't wait to see what is done with it after they bulldoze the place. This is going to be the last of the dead malls in albany.
Demolition of the main part of the mall has been ongoing - the JC Penny store and Lowe's will remain (and apparently the section where the mentioned theaters are, though they too have closed since the 2012 posting).
It will be refashioned as a stip center - many rumors have bounced around but not confirmed as to who will take the spaces there.
here is an old news paper story about when the store opened
