I like them, nothing really different except the sides you can pick from. (And my Wendy's always screws up and ends up giving you fries also, even if you only wanted a baked potato, salad, etc. as a side)
i love them they have so much goooooooooooooooood stuff lol:yup::roll::bouncing::bouncing::bounce::roll::tumble::dizzy::yup:
I especially love all of their chicken meals, the spicy chicken fillet, chicken fillet, homestyle strips, nuggets and the BBQ sauce ...:yup:
Quality is their recipe
Dave would have wanted it that way........
Wendy's is ok but expensive. I remember it seemd that every wendy's in my area used to SERIOUSLY over-salt the fries, now they put like no salt on them and they're very bland. The Homestyle Chicken strips have made me sick at 4 different locations. (They didn't at a fifth, though.)
They are expensive, I agree with Zayre... I love their chicken selections.

lol i had that same problem when i got sprit from there it always tasted bad but there much chepper then Mcdonnles lol there my favort along with bugerking and i love wendys fries
I work at a restaurant where we also use a soda fountain powered by syrup boxes mixed with water and carbonation... Usually that cheap crappy taste comes from improperly filtered water. Most Pepsi fountains including ours have stickers that say they all filter the water to remove that chlorine taste, but they really don't, at least not at our store...;)
heres one in canada.

Wha? Wendy's expensive?
aw for crying out loud they're a fast food restaurant they're cheap right arn't they?
I believe so since me and my family eat there a couple of times and their nuggets are only 99 cents!
THATS NOT EXPENSIVE!
but their burgers are 99 cents, plus tax, versus 88 cents at burger king and McDonalds. But that's still cheap versus $6.50 or whatever at a non-fast food restaurant
wendys is the cheepists along wit burger king

At many Wendy's, the salad bar was removed so there is a large space between the ordering counter and the one with ketchup and ustensils.
yup, same here with the Kingston location. They put booths in place where the salad bar was located.
This is my all time favorite fast food restuarant. I also liked Roy Rogers until they went out. At Wendy's, there isn't one thing on the menu I don't love. Go ahead! Name something on there menu I don't like. Its like trying to figure out where numbers end.
Wendy's house from Wendy's 1996 website. Yep, thats good ol' Dave on the porch. :)
Wendy's is my favorite fast-food restaurant.
Along with the recent news about Tim Hortons is news about slowing down Wendy's expansion and closing 40 to 60 restaurants... see the story at:
http://www.wendys-invest.com/ne/wen072905strat_initiatives.php
From the Globe & Mail:
"The story of Wendy's and Tim's has lately become a tale of two companies going in opposite directions. While Tim Hortons has messed up only rarely, Wendy's outlets operate with much thinner profit margins and have produced mediocre results recently. JPM Securities analyst Dean Haskell calls Wendy's "the odd man out" as management at rivals McDonald's, Burger King, Hardees and Carl's Jr. have revitalized their stores, beefed up sales and stolen market share. "
As for Tim in the U.S., who knows? The immediate goal is 500 stores by 2007. But first, Mr. House has to iron out some problems. Hortons is still only break-even in the United States. It bought 42 stores in New England last year from Bess Eaton and converted them to Hortons outlets. So far, it has gone badly, and the company is reviewing what to do.
"Trust me. We're in New England, we're staying in New England. We're in there and we're not going anywhere," Mr. House says. "We've never been an overnight success."

The first photo is the Wendy's in Poughkeepsie (downtown on Main Street).
The 2nd is a fairly new Wendy's in Glenmont (if front of the WalMart Supercenter-Lowes on Rt 9W).
The last is the plaza that sits directly across from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. It is also fairly new (2-4 Yrs old) - but the plaza has been there much longer - it formerly had a Bradlees.
i think the wendy's on Rt. 1 in portsmouth nh closed.
My first job out of high school was as a grill cook at a Wendy's near Milford, PA. I think the town was Sawkill, NY.
Anyways, for a couple of months after working there I had no desire to eat a burger (not because I disliked Wendy's food, just because I was tired of cooking beef) but the first time I had a hamburger afterwards I knew I had to have one from a Wendy's.
I love their chicken sandwhiches (although I prefer Chic-Fil-A)
and their new Frescata line is scrumptious!

OOPS! I meant that they were $0.99 and now they $1.29
Wendy's chicken nuggets are still boss at 5 for $.99. They edge McDonald's for best chicken nuggets at a fast food joint. Burger King used to have the crown (pardon the pun) but their chicken tenders are never cooked crispy anymore like they used to be.
First is the location in Bennington (VT) - New built in the Price Chopper-Wal*Mart plaza on Rt 67A - they had closed a former location on Route 7 a couple years previously (not so much closed as closed for remodeling and reopened as Dunkin Donuts!).
2nd is the Kingston location on Rt 9W in front of the Walmart/Mall. Built newly as Wendy's.
3rd is the location on Western Avenue, just below Crossgates Mall in Guilderland - this is open (it was early AM, and they have only a road sign - this area tends to have rather small signs - must be a local ordinance).
4th is the location on Central Ave. in Colonie - about a block below Fuller Road. This one has been there for a while.
Last is the Pittsfield (MA) location - across from the entrance to the Price Chopper/WalMart plaza - it is fairly recent.
The one on Market Street in Upper Darby, PA closed several years ago and is fenced off.

The first time I went to Wendy's was in 2002. The service was horrible and it'll be a cold day you know where before I go there ever again. Now if someone else wants to take me there, I have no objections just don't give me their fries because they are always undercooked.
It was about 1:43PM and my mom was taking me to my job at the radio station in Plantsville. I had to be at the station by 2PM. We stop and Wendy's on Queen Street. I go inside. I get in line there are only 2 people ahead of me. I figure I'll be in there maybe 5 mins at the most. No! The people working there were so brain-dead I didn't get out of there until 1:55. I run to the car. And my mom drives over the speed limit down Route 10 as I'm eating my burger and sucking down my soda. We pull into the parking lot of the radio station at 2:03. I run inside the station past the General Manager's office saying something about being sorry I'm late. I go into the studio to check the commercial log for the talk syndicated talk show I was supposed to be running the broadcast console for. Then I go in and tell the GM about the horrible service I had at Wendys.

Is this restaurant going out of business or something? The one in East Providence RI closed this week without any warning. Place was always busy despite the usual clutter of McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell around it.
We love Arby's too their Beef N Chedder is really good . Wendy's around here has taken a turn for the worse because burger King is taking over some of our Wendy's.:bounce::
I got an email from a friend of mine that says select Wendy's now have a breakfast menu. Is this true? And if it is true, why can't I find anything on their website about it?

From http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/wendys-inks-folgers-coffee-deal/story.aspx?guid=%7B2860BA96-1525-4A26-9771-2C1DEF94EDF1%7D (//http://):
Wendy's on Friday (may 15) said it has inked a deal with Procter & Gamble to sell a custom blend of Folger's coffee, part of the fast-food operator's push to expand its
breakfast offerings.
Earlier in the year, Wendy's cited the expansion of its
breakfast program as one of the moves underpinning its expectation for a boost in its profit his year and beyond
I just read in tonight's newspaper that the Wendy's at 860 Arsenal Street in Watertown, NY has closed down permanently this week. Talks about extending the restaurant's lease have failed. The buildng's owner says that he plans to lease the property to another fast-food chain, while the man who owns the Wendy's franchise that was located there since 1986, says he will build a new Wendy's in another location in Watertown.
Greensburg, PA. We have, in one location, McDonalds (inside Wal-mart), Arbys, Steak N Shake, Red Robin, Panera Bread, and Starbucks. Down the street is another McDonalds, (older location by Sam's Club), and Taco Bell, and near the mall on the other side of town is a Wendy's/Dunkin Donuts, across the highway is Boston Market, Red Lobster, Ground Round, a CLOSED Denny's, and a CLOSED McDonalds that was turned into a real-estate building (I believe). We got it all lol...On the Interstate 80 we have Roy Rogers and Bob's Big Boy. I'm not going to mention the hundreds of pizza shops in this town alone. although the Pizza Hut across the road from Sam's Club was sold out and closed down. Pretty sad, I went there all the time.

Thank god, it was a major traffic hassle. Plus they'll no longer need to rotate workers between the stores. I'd go to that one while I was in college, and I'd see the workers at that store one day, and at the one in the mall the other. Isn't that illegal or something?
I wish I could have met the franchise owner - he was on the news, because the service at the Wendy's restaurants in Watertown are awful.

The topic title was right: Arby's, Wendy's ...
QuoteWendy's chain bought for $2.3bn
Burger chain Wendy's is to be bought by Triarc, the parent firm of Arby's restaurants for $2.34bn The news came after Wendy's saw a 72% fall in first quarter profits to $4.14m from $14.7m a year earlier. Wendy's said the deal would help to cut costs.

Not here in NJ yet.....a few need to be cleaned and new drive thru screens....
We all know that Arby's merged with Wendy's in 2008. I tried something just for fun, transform the Arby's logo with the Wendy's style! ;)
ihope that wendys and abrys being part of the same compney wendys keeps coke
I noticed that almost all Wendy's have changed their signs from white to red. One of our area Wendy's, that opened in 1992, had the red in at least 2002. I wonder if it was remodeled around that time. The other Wendy's in the area seem very old and dilapidated and had the white logo until recently. I wonder if Wendy's used the same building design from around 1984-1992, but changed the logo to red in the early 90's for new stores?
I'm not sure if it's been brought up in this thread, but did anyone elses Wendy's used to have a salad bar?
The one in Keene, NH did up until the late 90's. That salad bar is now legendary amongst longtime residents of the town who remember how absolutely AWFUL and gross it was. I definitely remember the pudding. *shudders*

I remember the Southington Queen St Wendys had a salad bar, it was actually very good, i loved the french dressing they had.
BTW, The new Wendys fish sandwich is very good too, tried it the other day.

Really, what's the point? Doesn't Wendy's already have stores across the nation? There will probably be lots of overlap with towns that have both franchises, if they decide to buy the company.

It was 2 or 3 years ago maybe more. It's been sitting vacant for a long time. Meanwhile the adjacent plaza has been renovated.
We used to have a Wendy's near Kmart where CVS is today. I'm guessing it opened either in the 70's or 80's
sometime in the mid 90's it closed and we were left with no Wendy's until around 2005 they opened a Wendy's on East Main Street. The old one was old it was styled more like a restaurant than a fast food place it was dark inside and there was light brown wallpaper inside and a curved windowed room that faced the connecting street.

Wow! Definitely the coolest Wendy's restaurant I've ever seen.
Now if only they'd improve the service. ::)
Wendy Thomas now appears in some new Wendy's commercials, introducing a new double cheeseburger that she named after her dad, called "Dave's Hot 'n Juicy".
If you haven't seen the commercial yet, you can see it here on Youtube:

WENDYS HAS RETURNED THE HOT & GREASEY BURGER!
Isn't Dublin, OH, where the Wendy's corporate headquarters is? It only makes sense that the fancy prototype restaurant would be there. I highly doubt that many of the locations would receive such an extreme makeover, especially when a LOT of them have a bunch of vacant front-end space from removing the line rails and the salad bar.
Store #1515, 17217 SE McLoughlin Blvd., Milwaukie, OR.
Opened c. 1979. Original mansard roof was replaced around c. 1988. Was recently expanded out front.

I wonder how many months/years it will take to get franchisees to conform their signage to the new logo.
Funny how Wendy's and Arby's aren't part of the same company anymore, yet both change their logo's a week apart from each other.
So here is the new wendy's logo.
Initially I didn't like it since wendy's I thought never needed to change its logo. But I like the new wendy picture, and I'm sure the new wordmark will look good on he buildings.
At least they didn't try to awkwardly try to cram the new wordmark into the frame from the old logo (like arbys did with their wordmark and the hat)
The Wendy's girl always looked so good, now she's even better! ;D

Has anyone tried their new Frosty in a cone?
Haven't tried it myself, but the reviews I've read so far indicate that the consistency of the Frosty product is ill-suited as a stand-in for soft serve. For one thing, it melts far too quickly, which leads to a big mess.
I think Frostys are best served in a cup since it's like a cross between soft serve ice cream and milkshake!
I had lunch today at the Southington, CT Wendy's. It seems old and tired. The only modern amenity is a urinal in the men's room that flushes automatically.

Perhaps the coporation is offering some sort of deal for them to do it?
I remember reading once that McDonalds did something like that - loaned the franchisee the amount for renovations, with the deal that they wouldn't have to repay the loan unless their sales increased x amount. Of course, only one or two didn't get the increase, so they got the majority of the money back (and probably more than made up for those couple with the increased amount from a % from the locations where business increased dramatically).

As Ray Kroc once said, McDonald's is in the real estate business, not the restaurant business. No surprise that they offered some sort of incentive.
Is their anything wendy's sells that's worth going their for? I have had their cheese burgers before and the meat is always so salty I can barely taste it and the cheese taste extra fake to me for some reason. I also tried their chicken nuggets, chicken sandwich, and fries and they all taste ok but are just kinda bleh.

Oh, Wendy's food isn't really all that bad at least it's better than McDonald's or Burger King, but there isn't really anything that they sell that is worth going there for! Wendy has more stuff then Burger King or McDonald's and its the only place i will ever get Chicken Nuggets from
My sense based on recent visits to Wendy's is that their menu has gotten too big
and too complicated. The staff seems visibly confused, and long delays at the
counter and drive-thru have become common.

that bad, they're pretty good!
I like Wendy's fries. McDonalds are still the best IMO but Wendy's aren't bad.
Both better than either the classic or the satisfries at Burger King.
In general the government has been ruining French Fries for about a generation by
coming down hard on the fat and salt content. News Flash; a fat-free, salt-free fry
is something you do not want to eat!
Personally I prefer seasoned fries to regular ones Popeye's is my favorite then it would be Arby's. As far as regular fries go Burger King used to be my favorite until they had to ruin them by making them "thick cut" now my favorite is McDonald's. Actually when Burger King changed their fries is when I stopped eating their all together.
Checkers/Rally's (drive-ins with a traditional drive thru unlike Sonic) have great seasoned fries, as does Red Lobster.
Anybody around Lorain County in Ohio, they're building a new Wendy's next to the future Aldi's on the corner of SR83 and Chester Rd, in the Avon Crossing plaza (Lowe's/JCPenney) across from Walmart. While Aldi's is just a foundation at this point, the shell to Wendy's is almost complete. From the looks of it, I think it's going to follow the Dublin prototype design, but I could be wrong. It does look like it resembles this, maybe without the hugeness of the front entrance:

Had some Wendy's fries yesterday, and they were the best I've eaten in a very long time.
Served piping hot. Cooked to perfection. Best of all they actually had SALT on them!
Thank you, Wendy's, for ignoring Michelle Obama and putting actual salt on my fries!
Not to mention it came with a Spicy Chicken Combo that only set me back four bucks
with a coupon.
Waterford CT location has permanently closed! Drove by last Monday morning and there was a sign company removing all exterior signage. It was a strange location. 4 lane highway with no access from the other side of the road without going up to the next intersection to pull a U turn.
This Wendy's (which mostly resembles the Dublin, Ohio prototype) just opened this past Monday (December 8, 2014) in Lincoln Park, Michigan at the northeast corner of Southfield Road and Dix Highway across from Sears. This was the site of a building dating back decades that began as a supermarket before it became a Perry Drugs, which morphed into Rite-Aid in 1995 before closing in 2013.
It replaced this older Wendy's further up Southfield Road in neighboring Allen Park in front of a former Farmer Jack. Probably dated from at least the 1980's.

Wendy's has gotten too expensive for what they are the dollar menu used to have the double stack now it just has that tiny jr cheese burger, nuggets and fries are their dollar items. By the time I eat there I get a real burger from a local restaurant. In a town with Rally's and Wendy's I go to rally's every. Rally's is just about the same as far as for quality goes
Best deal in town right now is Steak N Shake, IF you use their coupons.
Wendy's fries still suck. And apparently at the Queen Street Southington, Connecticut location they installed an alarm that goes off every time someone is at the drive-thru. Very annoying to eat there. >:(

Was it a fire alarm? If so, must've been some wrong wiring.
Wendy's sent a fistful of coupons to my house, so I decided to do lunch at their location on
Castle Shannon Blvd. in Mt. Lebanon, PA.
Was stunned to arrive and see that the restaurant had CLOSED.
Both the roadside sign and the one on the roof had been removed.
This had to occur sometime within the past couple of weeks.
This restaurant is wedged in between a very busy car wash and an extremely
hectic intersection that seems to be always under construction. My guess is that
it had become so difficult to get in and out of their lot that it had drastically impacted business.
Not the best location for fast-food as the KFC-Taco Bell combo store just up the road
closed a couple of years back. It is now a Chinese takeout place.
Having been born in Columbus and lived there again for a time as an adult,
I was very sad to see it go. Ate there on several occasions while in the area.

Do you think that you can do more old Wendy's or other fast food chain restaurant menus?

I found it on Flickr.
The New London CT Wendy's has been completely renovated to look like their new prototype store from a couple years ago. It looks really nice. A few noticeable differences from the old style restaurant design; you now serve yourself to get soda, and the restaurant now offers a Coke Freestyle machine. When you place a "for here" order, they ask for your name, and when your meal is ready they shout your name. There's a "lounge" area with arm chairs, a low coffee table, and also a large round gathering table which seats about 8 people. Not sure about any older restaurants, but this one now has outdoor seating in front.

Ahh, good old inflation...
I know this is a bit off topic (well, not really), but I cannot get my mom to eat Wendy's AT ALL. Every time I ask her if she wants to try Wendy's, she always says she wants to go to McDonald's instead. Wonder why...
I wish that Wendy's would bring back the Pretzel bun hamburger!

Hungry Jack's (former Wendy's Hamburgers, now currently a KFC), Dandenong, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Wendy's did not last long in Australia, nine failing Wendy's locations were acquired by Hungry Jack's in 1986.
Another chain that goes by the Wendy's in Australia, Wendy's Supa Sundaes, a chain similar to the American Baskin-Robbins, is not related to Wendy's Hamburgers in any way.

As I responding to Jon when he posted this story on his Facebook Page I seriously doubt they will do this at my local Wendy's in Southington, Connecticut. It's kind of old and looks like it hasn't been remodeled since they took over the former Roy Rogers more than 20 years ago. (Maybe even 25 at this point).

Not sure about the kiosks, but we just had a couple locations here remodel, which probably haven't had much done to them since they removed the Super Bars quite a way back.
One they closed (at least I think so, based on how it looked) and the other operated as drive thru only while the work was being done.
Wendy's appears to be barely hanging on around here; one in a tony suburb closed when its lease ran out and others have reduced their hours drastically. I think the high-volume corporate stores will get them first. It's optional for franchisees to have them, so I doubt they will be widely adopted unless they have a documented positive impact on traffic. And if they do catch on, certainly BK and McD's and CKE will quickly enter the fray.

In Canada, many McDonald's have these kiosks now. It will be nice to see these at Wendy's.
They're nice but sometimes don't work properly. Receipt getting caught in the printer, screen that freezes, or staff somehow misreading the order.
Personally, it happened to me 3 times that I ordered To-Go and they gave me food on a tray to eat inside.
This former Wendy's in Seabrook, NH is now an Amato's (regional sandwich/pizza/Italian specialties chain)
Here's this Wendy's relic of the past (aka 90's)

This former Wendy's location has undergone an extensive remodel, and will re-open
on Friday as a Graeter's Ice Cream store. Graeter's is a Cincinnati-based chain
with somewhere around 60 stores.

PZC approves new Wendy’s near Southington movie theater
June 26, 2019 05:33PM
By Jesse Buchanan, Record-Journal staff
SOUTHINGTON â€" In a special meeting Wednesday afternoon, the Planning and Zoning Commission approved a Wendy’s restaurant on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.
The short meeting was held to avoid delays with the restaurant’s construction, according to commission Chairman Michael DelSanto. At its meeting last week, the commission delayed a decision on the Wendy’s application after one member raised concerns about the building’s placement on the property.
It is planned for the east side of the AMC movie theater entrance at 1799 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.
Vice Chairman Paul Chaplinsky wanted the restaurant built farther back from the road to match surrounding buildings. David Sacco, an engineer with TPA Design Group of New Haven, said the Wendy’s owners didn’t want to push the building back because they wanted it easily visible to drivers on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike.
On Wednesday, DelSanto said the commission had talked with town planners and restaurant representatives.
Town Planner Rob Philips had recommended against the commission denying the restaurant site plan based on the building placement. He said the plans met the town’s setback regulations and that owners were within their rights to place the building where it was proposed.
“State law says if a site plan meets the site plan regulations, the commission has a duty to approve it,†Philips said.
That doesn’t prevent commission members from suggesting or requesting changes for aesthetic reasons, according to Philips.
Sacco said construction could start in August.
The five PZC members at Wednesday’s special meeting voted unanimously in favor of the restaurant plan. Chaplinsky wasn’t in attendance since he was out of town.
DelSanto said the commission’s next scheduled regular meeting wasn’t until July and thanked commission members for meeting sooner. He didn’t want to make the restaurant owners wait until next month for approval and push construction back.
“That’s the big thing,†DelSanto said.
Chaplinsky said he didn’t have any further concerns if the rest of the commission supported the application. He said the town should raise concerns and work with developers on changes when possible.
“Sometimes it’s going to happen, sometimes it’s not. But that’s part of the process,†Chaplinsky said.

Wendy's in Southington, CT recently reopened at being closed for a couple weeks for a major renovation project. I went there yesterday. It's so weird. The ugly carpeting is gone. New tables and booths. A coke freestyle machine. A faux fireplace. Service just as slow as always. The renovation coincides with the soon the open 2nd Wendy's in Southington on the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike in front of the AMC Starplex Theater. The owner says they plan on remodeling all their Connecticut locations over the next couple years. More than 2 dozen in total.
Here is an older standalone Wendy's on Broad St. in Manchester, CT which is in dire need of renovations. I stopped there last Thursday and here's what these pics speak of about what I said above.
