Anyone vintage shopping cart hunting will want to track one of these stores down. I've spotted black Caldor carts, Bradlees, and Ames carts here by the ton.

The store itself really isn't that much different from an Ocean State Job Lot. Heck, they even share the same practice of stockpiling historical retail shopping carts. National Wholesale Liquidators looks like it carries more stuff while the Job Lot has more locations in other states.

I really dislike all these close-out stores (which includes OSJL, Big Lots, and NWL -- have yet to visit a Building 19) as they mainly just carry junk no stores want and attract unsavory crowds of people looking for crap they probably don't need or could find elsewhere for just as much. I hope I'm not attempting to plug Wal-Mart...

The NWL near me is a former Rickel. They have carts from Bradlees, Ames, and Hills.

Valerie

They have one of these stores in Fall River, Ma. I never went in though, I did not really know what it was.

We have two National Wholesale Liquidators that I know of in Philadelphia:
• Roosevelt Boulevard, south of Cottman Avenue (Former Chanel Home Center)
 • Adams Avenue & rising Sun Avenue (former Woolco Department Store/Clover Department Store)
 •
There is also one on Aramingo avenue in Port Richmond occupying the building of a former Channel/Rickle. I will try to post pictures.

I have to wonder if these stores buy up fixtures, etc. from businesses going out of business, who buys their stuff????   ??? ??? ???
