this mall in newton mass opened in 1974 and is on Rt. 9. it is an upscale mall, the filene's is 186,000 sf and there is a bloomingdale's in the mall. there is a freestanding 118,000 sf bloomingdale's near the mall. the mall is 2 levels with 60 stores and all the stores are posh. the mall had a fao shwartz toy store. filene's becomes bloomingdale's in 2006.

This is the new Bloomingdale's which replaced the former Filene's that formerly occupied the space.
The building looks new because it is, Bloomingdale's tore the Filene's block down to rebuild a new modern structure as seen in this night time photo.

An evening photo of the Bloomingdale's men and home store at the Chestnut Hill Mall.  I hope to revisit this area during the day, this particular store and the mall itself has a very "retro" modern look which I would like to see and get photo's of in the daylight.
