the independence mall is in kingston mass near the plymouth line off exit 8 on rt. 3 off smith lane and opened fall 1989. The mall is like 800,000 sf and started out with a 83,000 sf bradlees, aFilene's, Sears, a 76,000 sf Jc Penny. LEchmere opened in 1992. The mall has a cinema. lechmere closed in late 1997. Old navy opened in closed mall space and so did borders books in 2000. jc penny closed in 2001 and it became a 45,000 sf bob's stores and a 30,000 sf best buy in summer 2002. bradlees closed in early 2001 and was torn down to and built into a larger Target that opened october 2002. disney store closed march 2003 (I went to the mall when the disney store was closing. filene's got expanded in 2002 and is 149,000 sf. KB toys closed early 2004 and Bob's stores closed early 2004. lechmere became H&M and linens & things in 2003. filene's became macy's in 2006.
