the steeplegate mall on loudon road in concord nh was built in summer 1990. the mall started out with a 51,000 squrae foot sage allen, a 53,000 squrae foot steinbach, a 62,000 square foot jc penny and a 106,000 square foot sears. the mall has 60-70 stores. the mall is currently 554,000 square feet. sage allen closed in fall 1992 and steinbach closed in early spring 1999. sage allen became Bon-ton clothing store in November 1999 and part of steinbach became Bon-ton home store in November 1999. the unleased part of steinbach was expanded and became a 33,000 square foot Circuit city in march 2001. a 25,000 square foot Old navy was constructed near the food court in early summer 2001 and it got a new entrance. Kb toys closed in late 2000 to make way for a temporary entrance and kb stayed gone. saturday matenee closed early 2001. cvs closed 2001 or 2002. laureats books became waldenbooks. the hallmark store closed and relocated a year later in the mall. payless shoes closed. spencer gifts got remodeled. yankee candle is in the mall. applebee's is outsisde the mall. Chico's was constructed in the mall in 2004 and has an outdoor and indoor entrance. Debby's petland closed in 2005. burger king came to the food court in 2000.
