They were a home improvement/furniture store in the Southeast Pennsylvania area. They opened in the 1884 and closed in early 2005. They had three locations, one big main one in Hatfield Pa. and two much smaller ones in Willow Grove Pa. and Doylestown Pa.. The Hatfield location also used to have a little restuarant inside that had pizza and hamburgers and hotdogs and ice cream ect.

The Hatfield location was built in the 70's. Half of it was burned down in the early 90's. They rebuilt that half of the building bigger after the insident.

They were like if Home Depot, Raymore & Flanagan and an independent sandwich shop or pizza shop all came together as one. Rumor has it they went out of business due to a new Lowe's that opened a few miles away. I remember a few months before filing for chapter 11 I would go they're and it would be so quiet and they're would be alot less people then they're used to be.

From their website under About Us in 2005:

A forward thinking sales and buying force has enabled Snyders to hold onto it's roots, and at the same time be a home and garden store for the twenty-first century. In 1884, Snyders started as a coal and feed merchant located in Hatfield, Pa.

In the 1970's Snyders transformed itself into one of the areas first large scale home improvement stores.

Keeping up with the times is a hallmark of this fifth generation family business. The evolution in our customers lifestyles and also the industry itself has led us to where we are today; a premium provider of home decor, outdoor living, and lawn & garden products.
