this mall use to be home to a fiar in danbury that would come hear evrey summer this mall opend sometime in 1987 1988? idk the date of the malls opeing though

That Macy's was built in 90 or 91. It was a prototype store for the company. They wanted their stores to look more 70's like, and more grand scale. The newer Macy's at Colonie Center was built in 91, and looks similar to the Danbury Fair Mall in some ways.

I have been to the macy's in Colonie and I heard it is 300,000 square feet. I want to go to the Danbury Mall. I herad it once had Warner Brothers studio store and it had 2 Kb toys and now has one KB toy. and was once claimed the biggest mall in new england and it is one of the biggest and it opened in 1986. I wonder what will be done to FIlene's.

my guess it that the filenes will become bloomingdales but r u sure the mall opend in 1986 ? or was it latter on cause imt hinking more tords teh later 80's

Yes, the Macy's in Colonie Center is 300,000 square feet, on three floors with wood paneled escalators and other features. I'm not sure about the Danbury store, but I do know that the exteriors of both stores are similar in most respects.

the danbury one has three floors but i dont think it has wood paneled escalators and such i think macys might have been added on latter like aorund 1988 1989

Go inside next time and check it out. You'll see alot of dark wood paneling if the store is similar to Colonie. The outside looks similar in most respects.

i got some news about this filenes this store will  close by the end of jan 2006 and this store will not become a boomingdale sunfortaley this will be teh first time the mall will lose a ancor i hope something moves in in time this stre has been there since 1988 i hope anoutehr store will fill up its spot like a Nordstrom or something

how upscale is this mall. nordstrom is an upscale store. the only nordstrom I have been to is the one in PRovidence and the store was very upscale, and so was that mall. No bloomindgale's ahe.

I bet one level will become a DIck's sporting goods (I THINK THAT FOR A LOT OF OVERLAPPING LOCATIONS WHERE THERE IS NO DICK's). But for Kohl's, it says there is one in brookfield.

I think nordstrom is more upscale than lord and taylor. Best buy won't; come. I heard that a best buy opened in danbury recently.
