Does anyone know that of May 2007 if Dixie Square is still standing at all?

Nope, it's still there.  The developer who was supposed to tear it down and rebuild is in jail now.  There is a movie being made about it, the website //www.dixiesquare.com will give you more info.

At long last, the remains of the most notorious Dead Mall of all time, the Dixie Square Mall, is coming down. What is supposed to replace it? Another retail complex. Will history repeat itself?

so ends an icon :(

The "icon" died as soon as the Blues Brothers shoot wrapped. Everything since then has been a comedy of errors. One could argue it died long before that, but I'll grant Dixie Square that one last moment of glory.
