The high gas prices are really going to hurt malls. Unless people live right by the mall, they are not going to drive out of their way to get there. More people are going to shop at the big box stores like Target and Kohl's, which are closer to where they live. People also will have less money to spend so any specialty store in the mall (like Things Remembered, The Limited, Express, any more fancy mall stores) will not be shopped at as much. What do you think?

I think this whole gas thing is a joke. We should be taking control of the oil refineries. They are getting us in the a** with this crap. I hate it! Not only will retail suffer, but the American life as we know it, will suffer. Boycott Bush!

I agree with the gas prices thing, my parents are not going to shop as much now becuawe of the gas prices (they said that)

The gas price thing should be taken into account of store closigns because people displaced by the closed store won't go to the next one. companies planing to close stores should take that into account!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, what i am saying is that when a company closes stores, people may go to the next one (if it is not over 20 miles away), and this case they won't because of gas prices. my dad thinks this may hurt christmas sales. Like when my gas tank has been 1/4 left, it costs $21 to fill it up to full!!!!!

Gas Companies have a monopoly. You go to one store and it's say $2.79 and then go down the street $2.95. Price Control is gay and they say it is based on zoning, whatever! They are just money hungry thieves!!

Around here, the prices are the same for every gas station in town.  There are differences between cities but usually the price is the same at every gas station in any town.

Right now the price is 1,10 $CDN per Liter meaning 4,16 $ per gallon !!  So our price in US dollar is 3.45 $/GAL.

The price includes two federal taxes and two provincial taxes!!!!  That's why it's so expensive here.

Gas prices are a joke, it's hurting me because I do delivery for a pizza place.  I only gas up with Shell gas, around here it is $2.61.  In the city about 15 mins away it is 10 cents cheaper in one part, and 10 cents more in another.

Caldor1999

i remember when it was only $20.00 or less to fill up my sisters car now its $35.00 to fill it up its crazy

and i do agree with amesman on
Boycotting Bush there also many reasions why i wanna and lest say gas price has to do with that

Why would anyone buy Shell gas? It is the most expensive around where I live and anywhere else where I've seen a Shell station. (Gas is Gas so buy the cheapest possible!)

Some Companies really water down there Gas... Speedway, Citgo, and Rich (Marathon). Some have high ethanol. So, some companies you are not getting your money's worth.

Plus... if we Boycott Bush that does nothing. Because the Republicans are wanting to open the pipeline from Alaska, providing us with more oil than what we recieve from Opec. So, therefore gas would be cheaper and we wouldn't have that dependencie on Saudi Arabi and Iran.

You guys all have it easy!! In my area gas is $3.65 a gallon. That was yesterday. It's probably even more now.

And also, I don't notice any difference in traffic. There's still cars on the road everywhere. Same as always.

Supposedly they are dropping again, due to more of the oil reserves being released.

It is slowly going down around here.  I filled up at $3.09 today.  I heard on the radio the EPA is temporarily allowing below-pollution-standard gas to be sold.  I also heard in the news, if it gets bad enough the government may temporarily drop the taxes on gasoline as well...

The gas prices seem to be back to where they are. Tehy had better not go back up.
