So I was channel-surfing Sunday night and I came across a soccer match between the
New York Cosmos and the San Francisco Deltas.

I am assuming this is not the same New York Cosmos team that brought Pele to America in the 70's, but some newer franchise that has taken that name.  What surprised me was that the match was being played at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco.

Kezar Stadium is where the San Francisco 49ers played their home games between
1946 and 1970.  The Oakland Raiders also played one season there.  However, it is probably
best known from the movie Dirty Harry as the place where Clint Eastwood stomped on the
Scopio Killer at midfield.

Kezar Stadium is not the same 50,000 seat bowl that it was when Dirty Harry was filmed.
It was seriously damaged in the 1989 earthquake, demolished, and replaced with a much
smaller 10,000 seat high-school football stadium, utilizing the same field.  Some of the
seating was recycled from Candlestick Park, which was torn down a few years ago.

All in all a very cool and historic venue.
