One of my friends picked me up late last night. He brought me to his house. A couple other friends came by. (I only know them through my first friend). We have a few adult beverages, some nachos, and then we decided to play scrabble. It was my turn and I grabbed the dictionary off the bookshelf to look up how to spell a words. One of the other guys told me using the dictionary was cheating. I told him he was full of s h i t. He told me again that I was cheating. I took the game board and flipped it over. (You know how my temper is).

So. Tell me. Is it against the rules to use a dictionary when playing Scrabble?

People make up the most random a s s words all the time. Its only fair when you hear made up words 5 times in a row. THATS IT GET THE BOOK lol

Reading this thread reminds of that one episode of The Simpsons called "Bart the Genius" that starts off with the family playing a game of Scrabble and Bart puts down the word "Kwyjibo" and defines the made up word as a "A big, dumb, balding, North American ape with no chin".
