TJX is launching a new home-decor chain to compliment its own Home Goods Chain.

Home goods sells pretty much everything "decor" related the only way I could see them having another store that sells items like that is if it was more centered around creating your own stuff but then you would be competing against all the other arts and crafts stores? Certainly interesting either way and despite it being a store more focused towards women I can never walk into homegoods without buying something.

What I read into this news is that TJX is going to try and mimic Garden Ridge/At Home with their own offering, using the established TJX distribution channels instead of formulating something new. With HomeGoods stores being around 25-30,000SF in size and the average At Home being at least 100,000SF of aisles and aisles of home decor goods (and, unlike HomeGoods, able to fit a layout into any shape of existing building there is), I can see TJX wanting to cash in, especially if they can snatch up old abandoned Kmarts and Walmarts to use as shells.
