Around 12:30 this morning I was flipping radio stations and I came across BOMBA-FM - Connecticut's FM Spanish station. Anyway a commercial had ended they played a Spanglish version of Stand by Me. Spanglish meaning half Spanish/Half English. I wonder why these Spanish artists are recording Spanglish versions of these old songs. Stand by Me is just the latest. Others I've heard also include "Be My Baby" and "Sugar Sugar."

I also should mention that 990AM Hartford along with 1270AM/1490 AM in Springfield are probably the only stations that have played the Spanglish Versions of the songs such as "Be My Baby" and "Sugar Sugar" and the original versions. 990 and 1270 used to simulcast each other when they were Spanish. In June 2015 990 switched to simulcasting 1490 also Spanish. Then in July 2015 990/1490 flipped to Oldies. In May 2016 1270 went Oldies and 1490 went back to Spanish.
