Red Wolf Broadcasting has made major changes at their Southern New England Oldies stations KOOL Radio.

On April 1st Kool Radio temporarily disappeared from the airwaves in the Springfield Market. They flipped WACM 1490 to Spanish Tropical WSPR and added an FM repeater at 104.5 FM. Bomba 104.5 replaces BOMBA 1270.

On April 30th Kool Radio returned to Springfield on the 5KW signal at 1270 AM.

The Hartford market signal WXCT 990 AM returned to the original WNTY call letters. They added an FM repeater at 96.1 on the FM dial.

The Westerly area affiliate WSKP 1180 added and FM repeater at 104.3 on the FM Dial.

The 3 stations are not a 100% simulcast any more. They play the same music and feature the same voice-tracked DJS, but now programming is originating separately. 1270 out of West Springfield 990/96.1 out of Glastonbury, and 1180/104.3 out of Ledyard, CT.

KOOL 990/96.1 runs Westwood One News at the top of each hour (with local news 6AM-10AM) and KOOL 1270 and 104.3/1180 runs CBS News.
