I preferred the PC version of The Sims because you could go the internet and download some custom content, you couldn't do that on a Gamecube!

You can learn about the rise, then fall (video game crash of 1983), then rise again of video games (with the NES) at the new National Video Game Museum, located north of Dallas in Frisco, Texas. The museum even has an arcade!

The Atari 2600 had many awful games that led to the crash of '83, including a badly ported arcade version of the Pac-Man game and of course, E.T., which was based on the Steven Spielberg-directed blockbuster of the same name.

The LJN games on the NES were terrible.

The Tiger Games were terrible including the R-Zone and Game.Com.

Virtual Boy was a commercial failure that led indirectly to Gunpei Yoki's tragic death after being fired from Nintendo.

Sega Saturn was a failure in the United States, whereas the Dreamcast, Sega's final console, was a success in the United States, which sold poorly in Japan.

I wouldn't say the Dreamcast was a sucess, sure it was a revolutionary console, but slow sales, a lack of third party games, and the upcoming release of the Playstation 2 pretty much nailed the Dreamcast's coffin shut and it was discontinued only 18 months after it was released in the US.
