Over the past few days I've had the chance to have three different brands of Orange Soda. - Fanta (Bottled by Coke), Sunkist (Bottled by Dr. Pepper/7-Up), and Crush (also bottled by Dr. Pepper/7-Up).

Fanta was the best. Sunkist was 2nd best. Crush was the worst. Crush had some weird taste to it.

My favorite orange sodas are Tropicana Twister (Pepsico) and Orange Dry (Polar.)

The history on Fanta is interesting.

It was created in Nazi Germany!  The local Coca Cola bottler could no longer get supplies
of Coke syrup from the U.S. due to the war and subsequent trade embargo.  They had to
come up with their own soda flavoring using locally available ingredients that were not being rationed.

Primarily they used pomace (the pressed remains of fruit after juicing) and whey
(a byproduct of cheese making).  Very little if any actual orange was used.

They came up with the name "Fanta" because it had been created out of "fantasy ingredients".

Pepsi also had bottled their own orange soda under the name "Orange Slice". The original name for Orange Slice was "Mandarin Orange Slice".
