As the title says.

Here's the ones in the Downriver Detroit area of Michigan:

  • First stadium-seating theater, new build: The MJR Southgate Digital Cinema 20 opened on November 6, 1998 with stadium seating in all 20 auditoriums.
  • First stadium-seating theater, conversion of existing build: The Star Taylor (10) converted to stadium seating for the 1998 summer movie season. The facility later became the AMC Star Taylor 10, then closed in 2009, then served as the Spotlight Taylor 10 2010-2012, now vacant, even plans to reopen it as an MJR Digital Cinemas location that were proposed last year were cancelled.

Now list the first stadium-seating movie theaters that existed in your region, both in a new building and a conversion of an existing theater.

In Bensalem, PA

  • First stadium-seating theater, new build: AMC Neshaminy 24 Theatres, back in September, 1998
  • First stadium-seating theater, conversion of existing build: United Artists Oxford Valley 10 Theatres, back in the early 2000's.  Since then it has become REG United Artists Oxford Valley Stadium 14 Theaytres with Regal's "King Size" recliners

This is for Northeast Philadelphia and surrounding areas's.

New Build: GCC Franklin Mills 14 opened December 97 for me here in Northeast Philadelphia, which is now known as AMC Philadelphia Mills 14.
AMC Neshaminy 24 would be the 2nd one built.

Converted is probably the same as MikeRa, the UA Oxford Valley 10 becoming the UA Oxford Valley Stadium 14.

The new Loews in Plainville, Connecticut that opened in 1998 was one of the first in Central Connecticut to have stadium seating.
