Winn-Stanley Enterprises has purchased The Plaza at Burr Corners in Manchester, Connecticut for $22 million. The plaza is located on The Tolland Turnpike. Winn-Stanley is promising massive upgrades in the facade, parking lot, lighting, and landscaping. A new chain store specializing in equestrian apparel and supplies is expected to open late this summer. They hope to get a supermarket to locate in the plaza as well.

Marc's Note: Didn't this plaza have a supermarket in it before?

What Supermarket could they be courting?

Stop & Shop is on West Middle Turnpike.
Shoprite is on Spencer Street.
BIG Y is on the other end of The Tolland Turnpike.
Save-A-Lot is on Broad Street in the old Shaw's.
Highland Park Market (IGA) is on Highland Street.

There is a 35,000 Square Foot Vacancy, unless there is a way to move stores around to make a larger space, that's small for a supermarket. Unless they divide the space and put in an Aldi or if Price Chopper were to open a small Market 32 in that space. A 2nd smaller Stop & Shop? A small Whole Foods? The new chain Whole Foods is starting?

Marc:

At the east end of Burr Corners was a Food Mart.
