I'm having a hard time believing this. There's no possib;e way you can get Ames back....its just not gonna happen. If in 10 or more years you do get it back, I will change my views, but for now, I don't think it can happen. Sorry. But, I wish you the best of luck anyway :)

Thank you. I don't doubt you have dreams and i don't doubt the fact you've studied up on your information. I will even go as far as saying it's a good idea, but i am still skeptic. Although i have never made fun of you, because you couldn't spell, nor will I. There's nothing wrong with having learning disablities. So, no one is calling you stupid, or saying you're not capable of pulling off such a task. I need a lot of proof to believe this and it's not just with you. I have to see things to believe them. Please don't take any offense to my doubt. But that's how i am. Like i have said before, good luck with your project and with whatever it is you are doing.

I can't wait to read the news article in DSN Retailing Today and Retail-Merchandiser.

Re-opening Ames or opening a new chain with the Ames name and trying to compete against Wal-Mart and Target will sure catch their attention...

Anyone can get ames back. give ip recovery 1 mill for the remaining IP get a store front as i am, change all trademark status and put it under your name. re-incorporate if necessary. and thus go from there. It is possable. it's time consuming but it is possable. call the people, they will tell you it's possable. after all even the bible says it's possible, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains!"  yes it's the catholic comming out in me lol. anyways that's the scoop

But I have contract open with IP recovery so getting Ames Ip will be extremely hard.  But they have others as well.

Open up Ames make it the 4th biggest chain of the country. Buy all the sites where Ames used to be and taken over by Walmarts and Home Depots and Lowes and Targets. While we are at it lets open all those old Caldor stores back up again and get the rainbow back up. Lets open up Bradlees again. Lets build a time machine and figure out how to stop these chains from going out of business.

I have fond memories of the Ames store that was located outside of Orlando, FL and it still was a mystery why it closed as it was located in a small shopping center with alot of business and many ways in and out of the center.
Now that the October date has passed, does anyone know if the "new" store in Miami really opened??

Any update on the status of the Ames reopening??

I kind of need an answer ASAP, so I can work on getting that old Ames Trailer sitting off of US 20 out of the shrubs and tall grass and get it back in service. I figure with 8 new tires, wait I only need 7, one is still inflated, she'll be all ready to bring Merchandise to the newly opened stores. Just a word to the employees working inside of the trailer: beware of the rotting floor. Andy wanted to keep the trailer as original as it was when Ames was first opened. Also, beware of the rats. Just ignore them. If they get into the store, pleasantly encourage them back out into the trailer. Thanks!!

Hi!  I have heard through a reliable source that the whole thing was a hoax and the guy was trying to run some kind of a scam.

Come on! I would love to see an Ames in Cincy, but you just can't do it. I'm not trying to decrease self-esteem or any of that, but it simply can't be done. And a little advice:
He may have just created those realtor websites to prove that they are legitimate. And heck, the company opened his grandma's music store. That's like Re/Max selling and opening a Wal-Mart! Little businesses can't work with big corporations, so I agree with beachgal26. I am convinced it is a total, complete, big, fat, hoax. There's no pictures and there is no proof. All the evidence there is is the guy's text on a computer screen. And it's just not convincing us. So just don't try it, because it will sink like the Titanic.

lol especially when you have admins like us around. This was the wrong place to try and pull this kind of hoax! We specialize in this stuff. I eat, sleep, breathe old school. Don't try that around these parts because you will get called out.
