I remember when I was little super soakers were the rage (they came out the year I was born). Also, when I was a toddler Power Rangers were pretty popular too (I never liked them). In 1999-2000 Pokemon was REALLY popular. Also, remember the "boy bands" of the late 90's?

For a good example of a "hair band" from the 80's, see the cover of Heart's 1985 album "Heart". Pore 80's fashion!!

ewww...I hated both Pokemon and the Spice Girls. The Pokemon thing was too boring for me and everybody took it too seriously and the Spice Girls HAD NO TALENT!!! They were just another fake manufactured pop group trained to make money.

None of the malls in Green Bay had one, but one of the malls in Appleton did.

New Coke, what an epic fail for Coke!

And probably one that didn't have to be - had they introduced it at first as an option (rather than simply getting rid of the old one and replacing it), many might have tried it and found they liked it.

However, when they did it the way they did, many people were simply angry that the drink they had bought for, in some cases the better part of 100 years wasn't going to be available and flat out refused to try the new one as they simply didn't want to support a company that would do that to them.

Looking back at it, it's really amazing just how big of a reaction it got - almost what one would expect today, but without the easy, convenient ways to express it via online avenues, so it was all done by mail and phone calls!

They even brought it back as "Coke II" in the 1990s.
