They were a membership warehouse that was operated by Meijer. It opened it's first location in Okemos, Michigan in December 1992 and grew to seven locations before Meijer pulled the plug on the concept in early 1994. Their stores featured a single customer entrance at a corner (the one closest to the road serving it) with a half-circle-shaped canopy and small window blocks extending for a short distance on both walls at that corner.

Here is a grand-opening ad for the Source Club in Westland, Michigan (from the May 6, 1993 Canton Observer), since demolished for a Lowe's:

Here are two images of the Source Club in Taylor, Michigan (mentioned in the ad above) after it closed. It has since been demolished for housing (source):

At least two other Source Clubs existed: one in Fraser, Michigan (also mentioned in the ad above), which was converted into a regular Meijer and one in northwestern Livonia, Michigan, which is now a Costco.

The warehouse club concept still being somewhat really new at the time probably contributed to this chain shutting down after just over a year.

Anyone else remember Source Club?
