This will be updated once every Thursday, when I reveal the answer, so this leaves you with one week to guess the name of the retailer from the clues I give you.

And let's start!

1. This chain is the nation's third-largest pharmacy.
2. This chain started out with a single store in Scranton, PA in 1962.
3. Many stores in this chain feature an in-store GNC location.
4. This chain acquired Ohio-based Gray Drug in 1987, Michigan-based Perry Drugs in 1995 and West Coast-based Thrifty Payless in 1996.
5. In the early 21st century, this chain suffered a major accounting scandal that resulted in several company executives leaving and serving jail time.
6. This chain merged with Eckerd Pharmacy and Brooks Pharmacy in 2007.
7. This chain, along with one of it's competitors, accepts JCPenney credit cards, due to the past relationship between Eckerd and JCPenney.

This chain acquired Wellspring Grocery in North Carolina, Bread & Circus in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Mrs. Gooch's in Los Angeles, Bread of Life in the San Francisco Bay Area, Fresh Field Markets along the East Coast, Merchant of Vino stores in Metro Detroit and Nature's Heartland in Boston.
5. This chain expanded into the UK in 2004 by acquiring several Fresh & Wild stores.
6. This chain has a strict "no heroes policy" in effect, preventing security personnel from directly interfering with shoplifters. This means that this chain may do unsuccessfully in Metropolis or Gotham City...

3. This chain was founded in Cleveland on April 1, 1988.
3. This chain started out with a single store (which is still open today) in Mayfield Heights, OH on July 5, 1988.
4. This chain acquired competitors Office World and Office Square in 1990.
5. In 1992, this chain acquired five Boston-area stores from Michigan-based Highland Superstores.
6. This chain was among several Kmart-owned retailers, including Kmart itself, that were original tenants of what was termed by Kmart as "the world's largest power center" in Utica, MI on August 16, 1993.
7. During the late 1990's, this chain, along with two of it's competitors, opened many stores across the US, saturating the market.
8. This chain started closing under-performing stores in 2001.
9. This chain officially merged with the same retailer mentioned in clue #1 in 2013.

Pikapower is correct again!

And now, this is the first time you not only have to guess a restaurant, but also a defunct retailer or restaurant. Again, you have a week to guess.

1. This chain had locations in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
2. This chain operated from 1962 to 1999.
3. Restaurants in this chain were similar to early McDonald's outlets.
4. One of the founders was actually a former McDonald's vice president!
5. The early restaurants usually had no seating, but later ones mostly had interior seating.
6. The corporation that operated this chain folded in 1981, though several restaurants continued to operate independently.
7. This was the predominant fast-food chain in the city of Rockford, Illinois in the 1960's.

4. This chain started expanding internationally in 1995, which included outlets in Egypt and Israel.

4. Dealerships in this chain typically carry 300-400 vehicles.
