A friend of mine told me the Quizno's in Enfield, CT also closed.

They're still have some in Connecticut. The list is not complete but they're still in Naugatuck, Hartford, Wallingford, and East Hartford.

Is the East Hartford Quizno's still open??

Nope. I typed in East Hartford and the 2 closest restaurants listed are Trumbull on the Park - 100 Trumbull Street in Hartford and 600 North Colony Road in Wallingford.

Seaford, DE closed in the last month or so; I wonder if better signage on the highway would have helped? They seemed sorta lost in the shopping center. A Starbucks across the parking lot from them didn't last long. The more high-profile IHOP and Texas Roadhouse seem to do very well, and there is a Chinese buffet that does alright.

Bdubs

They all came and went so quickly.  Seems like they really treat their franchisees like frickin stuff, and have left a lot of them in the dust.  Not to mention, horrible marketing, not even close to competitive pricing, and very inconsistent food quality drove a lot of customers away.

Looking at the store locator on their website, there is one still within 20 minutes from my house in Niantic.  And two more within 45 minutes from me, one in Hartford, and one in Wallingford

I blame Quiznos' bad rap squarely on its chief competitor Subway. It seems Subway has the upper hand because they have a lot of locations in almost anywhere!  Could Subway be the "death growl" for Quiznos?

Quiznos is failing in large part because it has a terrible business model built on exploiting the gullibility of franchisees. They make it all but impossible for operators to turn a profit. Franchisees have been embroiled in lawsuits against Quiznos corporate for years. Here is but one example:
http://www.bluemaumau.org/12415/franchisees_fire_legal_attack_quiznos_ongoing_fraudulent_scheme

Subway has issues with encroachment but they don't oversell their territories to the point where their franchisees become unprofitable.

I blame Quizno's demise clearly at their own door. With those stupid forking commercials with those rodents in them. Except for Chuck E Cheese, where the giant mouse is the mascot, why would you use rodents to sell food?

I don't blame it on anything but Quizno's themselves. The Brandon, Fl store closed, because the owner was rude - to everyone (and other food places gave discounts to employees of stores in the center, but Quizno's a few years ago had a contest to own your own FRANCHISE Sorry, lousy way of getting franchise...having a contest!  :)

Yeah, a contest to win your own franchise seems like a case of bad marketing. I bet ya nobody won the contest, it was probably way too good to be true! :D

The last Quiznos in Buffalo, NY on Transit Road near Wherle Drive had closed after many years of business. I'm surprised that it lasted that long and now there are no more Quiznos in Buffalo, NY anymore.

Right now I'm starting to miss Quiznos and their toasted subs and their Batch 81 sauce and Their self serve pepper bar! Two nights ago I had a dream about finding an open Quiznos, shows you how much I miss them!

Quizno's is preparing for bankruptcy. The result of numerous lawsuits and increased competition. They are down to 1200 restaurants in the USA down from over 5000 in 2006.

They did this to themselves. I loved their concept and their subs, but in no way should a company crap all over their franchisees and get away with it. I dont feel bad for them.

^You can say that again, Quiznos got themselves into a financial disaster that could lead to the 1200 restaurants they have left to all close and the chain to go out of business!

I used to love those commercials, the level of stupidity and weirdness of them were on par with Japanese commercials. Those are the type of commercials that people will remember 10 years from now unlike subways commercials.

Also they aren't rats like most people think they are Spongmonkeys which are basically just tarsiers.

"The Spongmonkeys are an Internet phenomenon, created by Joel Veitch, that crossed over into television in the form of Quiznos commercials." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spongmonkeys

Any time I think of those commercials I also think of rapcat which wasn't quite as weird as what quiznos did but it was still out their https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjfbS_Kj-J0

Precisely.  How many people think of other commercials from 10 years ago as easily as these?

We didn't even have any Quiznos around then (of course, none now either) but I still remember hearing about the commercials and eventually seeing them online.

Oh, the irony of there not being a single Quiznos around here 10 years ago and we saw their commercials on TV and 10 years later Quiznos closes a Heck of lot of their restaurants and we don't see any of their commercials on TV anymore and the company files for chapter 11 bankruptcy. The next thing you know, Quiznos would go out of business unless they can get out of the "financial mess" they got themselves into!

I would love to see former Quiznos become Haagen-Dazs ice cream shops. Lots of Quiznos were once paired with Starbucks, and in the Dallas area Starbucks already has/had a similar arrangement with Haagen-Dazs.
