Ames logo - 1978

I came across this going through some old newspaper archives. Here's the logo I remember being printed on bags and circulars when store #80 opened in Sept. '78.

I've also attached a PDF of the insert into the Pulaski Democrat newspaper for the grand opening celebration. The article gives a little bit of the history of Ames.  I thought others might find it interesting.
