BIG Y plaza is a small plaza at 275 New Britain Avenue in Plainville. It was was completed in 1993. The Plainville BIG Y was the first World Class Big Y in the state of Connecticut. They moved from a much smaller location at the intersection of Farmington Avenue, East Main Street, and Hooker Street.

Although the tenants (except for BIG Y) have changed numerous times in the 20 years the plaza has been there the look hasn't changed. Previous tenants included Rite Aid, People's Bank, and Manhattan Bagels.

Current Tenants:

Starbucks (Formerly Manhattan Bagels)
Parma Pizza (Formerly Luna Pizza)
Nail Salon
Liquor Store
COMCAST
DRESS BARN
BIG Y

I'll try to post a link to the site plan later.

Just found out that The COMCAST/XFINITY Customer Service Office in this plaza closed in September. There's a sign in the window that says come visit us at 1253 Farmington Ave in West Hartford. They must've just recently taken down the sign. I've been to the plaza since September and I would've noticed the Comcast sign missing.

Sports Clips Salon took half of the former Comcast Store.

They painted the plaza tan. They also changed the BIG Y sign from the sign you can see in the picture on the landlord's website to a new round  red retro looking Big Y sign.

Metro PCS just took the other half of the former Comcast store. I was just at BIG Y a couple weeks ago and it wasn't there. It must have literally just opened in the past couple weeks. The plaza is now 100% occupied again.

Parma Pizza closed. When? Not sure. We don't go to Big Y very often, but I noticed it today when we went. Dress Barn rebranded to their new sister chain Roz and Ali.

Yummy Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar opened in the former Parma Pizza.
