After seeing some old Trix yogurt ads from the 90s where they showed that it had three colors, I thought to myself "Why did they changed it from a three layered yogurt into a two colored side by side yogurt?"

It's amazing to think Nabisco was once owned by RJ Reynolds, a tobacco company (and yes primarily a cigarette manufacturer).

RJR Nabisco also owned the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Zantigo Mexican restaurants until 1986 (RJR Nabisco purchased both restaurants  from Heublein), which they sold to PepsiCo. A majority of the Zantigo restaurants were converted to Taco Bell, except for one location in Minnesota. Zantigo would be re-established nearly 25 years later by former Zantigo managers as an upscale Mexican restaurant chain serving Minneapolis and the surrounding area.

Today, KFC and Taco Bell are owned by YUM! Brands, and Nabisco is currently owned by Mondel─ôz International Inc.
The one Zantigo location that never converted to Taco Bell was located near the now-demolished Apache Plaza shopping mall in the Twin Cities suburb of St. Anthony Village, Minnesota.

Actually, out of the five Zantigo locations in Michigan in 1986, only one (in Saint Joseph) was converted to Taco Bell and even that building has been replaced with a newer Taco Bell building. Here's what happened to the rest:
  • Belleville is now a Wendy's.
  • Lincoln Park later became a Tubby's Subs and is now an Enterprise car-rental place. That location did not convert to Taco Bell since there was already one about a quarter-mile away.
  • Redford is now a used-car dealership. That location did not convert to Taco Bell since there was already one further down Telegraph Road that has since closed.
  • Traverse City is now an independent taco place called Taco House.

The one thing I miss is Miller Beer (beer had red label and/or can).  Not to be confused with the current Miller High Life and Miller Genuine Draft.

I remember that.  Was only around for a few years.

You can see it in the Dan Akroyd movie version of Dragnet.  Tom Hanks' character has
a case of it sitting by his front door after a night of partying with the blonde lady cop.

Pretty sure they still make those, I have definitely seen them around recently.

Dunkaroos were available for some time at Dollar General stores, but it appears that they've been axed.  So long, Duncan!

Read that article on discontinued foods and saw crispy M&Ms as the first item on the list.  During two trips to Europe (Berlin and Rome, respectively), I kept an eye out for those elusive M&Ms and was only able to find them in one place: Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

I probably paid far too much for them, considering the location, but I disregarded the cost each time I slipped one of those babies into my mouth.  No matter how many Euros it cost me, it was worth it.

Surge - Coke's answer to Mountain Dew.

So I follow Burger King on Facebook and I've been seeing "sponsored ads" on their page announcing that Surge is back and available at their restaurants.

It's only available at BK in frozen form, no fountain drink surge, just frozen surge.

Crystal Clear Pepsi returns for a limited time, but as part of a sweepstakes. Crystal Clear Pepsi was the clear cola (cola that looked like water) that was introduced in the early-mid 1990s. I'm pretty sure a few of you remember Saturday Night Live's parody of Crystal Pepsi, a clear, gelatinous gravy called Crystal Gravy (Now you can finally see your meat!  Grin).

I tried the Surge Icee last time I was at BK. It was delicious. The drink has had a cult following since its discontinuation in the early 2000s.

I remember surviving off of Pepsi Blue and Dr. Pepper Red Fusion during my college days. If anything needs to make a comeback - and, one of the old "Dewmocracy" contenders was *close* to Pepsi Blue, but I don't think it won out - it's those two. Pepsi Blue is still being made in Indonesia, if eBay's anything to take into consideration, but I'm not paying insane prices for soda.

Oh, yeah, and Smokin' Cheddar BBQ Doritos. Those were *delicious*. Yes, there's a new BBQ Doritos chip out there, but it's one of those "mild to hot" blended taste ones, and I'm afraid to try it. I know that it won't be the same.

What else...? Ooh! Hostess used to make a snack cake called Choco-licious back in the early '90s. It was just chocolate on chocolate on chocolate. Bring THAT back!

Surge is back, and Crispy M&M's are back (the color of the packaging for Crispy M&M's was changed from royal blue to lime green, since royal blue is now being used by Pretzel M&M's)

What do you think of Pretzel M&M's? I didn't care for them. I also saw a "Limited Edition" flavor of M&M's at Walmart Southington, CT today. - "Strawberry Nut". Sounds gross I also got the new Carmel M&M's at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Bristol, CT about a week and a half ago. I give that about a 7 on a scale of 1-10.

I love the pretzel M&M's, although I like crispy M&M's and caramel M&M's more.

I also tried a new flavor of Mtn Dew today, called "DEW.S.A." which combines the flavors of Code Red, White Out and Voltage into one purple-hued soda with a patriotic Mtn Dew label. The new, limited edition flavor came out just in time for Memorial Day 2017.

^Duly noted, frozen breakfast foods aren't going away anytime soon.

Speaking of breakfast Kid Cuisine had a some breakfast TV dinners in the early 1990s like french toast, waffles, and scrambled eggs.

Post Oreo O's are coming back!

I spent $25 to have these imported from Korea a few months ago and I was glad I did, all these years later it's still my favorite cereal.
Now that I know Walmart has these I'm going their tomorrow and getting some.
