Bigg's was a chain of grocery stores in southern Ohio.  The first location opened in Eastgate in 1984, in a strip mall called Bigg's Place.

French hypermarket chain Euromarche was one of the founders on the store, but later sold the company to Supervalu and left the US altogether.  Bigg's merged with Supervalu in 2010.  In early '10, Supervalu announced plans to convert seven of the eleven locations into Remke Markets and close the rest.  The Bigg's brand name was dropped altogether in late 2013.

Here are photos of the first location in Eastgate during the closing sale and subsequent gutting.  It is now a second location of Jungle Jim's International Market (where I work).  Note that the strip mall is nearly completely vacant; the big-box tenants on either end had long since been sealed off from the rest of the mall.

Here's another Hypermarket location in Florence, KY, shown under a blanket of snow on Christmas Day 1992.  It is now a Garden Ridge.  Photo courtesy of the Kenton County Public Library.
