The Burlington one is a former Strawbridge's. I think that, after Macy's closes, they should replace it with a Boscov's.

I heard on PBS news that the five Macy's stores are supposed to close in march.

Meriden will become the next Enfield, a dead mall.

JCPenney left a few years ago, Sears last year. Meanwhile, Boscov's is expanding. This Macy's was a former Hecht's, one of the original anchors at the Centre at Salisbury.

Ohio Valley Mall is in St. Clairsville, Ohio, just across the river from Wheeling, WV.
I have a friend whose brother used to manage this store when it was still under the
Kaufmann's banner.  Was just by there and retail in general in the area appears to be
booming.  I did not go into the mall though so no idea how dead it is at this point.

This closing is bad for the Harrisburg Mall, don't think anything will ever replace it. ex-Boscov's has been empty since the 2008 Bankruptcy. Area has a bad reputation too.

Nittany Mall is worse. No matter how you look at it, there is almost no store that needs the sq. ft. offered by the mall. Both empty anchors are too small for Boscov's and too far apart. Footprint of the mall is totally wrong with almost no room for expansion without demo'ing half the mall.

The Harrisburg Mall, especially by that macy's side, is ghetto. And there is a prison near the mall by that side too.

I believe macy's should have pursued Park City Center Mall in Lancaster, in the Bon Ton or Sears space, but it hasn't been in great shape to add locations. Even in Park City, it would have a lot of competition in it and outlet malls nearby. 5 or 10 years ago if the anchor space was there, macy's would have pursued that kind of mall with Apple Store present  and the strongest mall in the Harrisburg-Lancaster-Lebanon-York market.

I really think Boscov's would do well if they opened in Enfield. Being that the mall is so close to the Massachusetts border, Boscov's could attract shoppers from both Connecticut and Mass. I really don't know if they can demall Meriden Square. The now closed Sears and soon to close Macy's spaces are owned by the stores themselves and not Westfield.

I don't believe Westfield Meriden should close. The biggest disadvantage is the fact that Sears and Macys own their stores and it has to be up to them as to what goes in there. You would think Westfield would be aggressive in trying to revive the mall or come up with a plan for its future. If the mall did fail itself, I think a traditional strip mall type development should take its place. Boscovs, TJ Maxx, Dicks, Old Navy and Best Buy should stay along with any other tenant in the mall willing to operate with an outdoor entrance. If the mall were to remain as is, the best uses for Sears and Macys would be a movie theater and/or a gym. Maybe a few more restaurants too.

Also on the list is Macy's at Macon Mall.

That is in a very large dead mall, and it leaves Burlington the only "anchor" store left. I'm not sure how it's justifiable to keep the mall open. It is also very clean looking mall that was modernized, but that just adds to make it more depressing to know that it was for no purpose.
