WOW!!!!!!!
Almy's department store!!!!! I haven't seen anything on Almy's in years now....
Also like the photo of Child World -closed when I was a kid- :hurt:
Montgomery Ward was a store I always got my back to school clothes at when I was a kid.

Now for the Zayre store featured in the photo, that location was in the Royal Ridge Mall in south Nashua, NH.
You can tell by the english tudor style facade on the exterior of the department store. This also matches what was once part of the mall "royal crest estate apartments" on spit brook road in south Nashua. This was an inovative design idea for the time,  an apartment community attached to an indoor shopping with it's own grocery store.
As a kid the Royal Ridge Mall had a Purity Supreme Supermarket, CVS and Zayre Department store.
There is a lot in store for you where clean, fresh and good make a GRAND UNION.

Wow great job getting these photos! Particularly Rich's, that was the second store in the chain build in 1966! Now that Child's World, that isn't Fun World today is it? Just from the castle exterior I thought Fun World in Nashua was most likely a former Child's World, but this photo doesn't look to be the same location as the place I'm familar with

Nashua Mall & Plaza, I definitely saw the sign a few weeks ago driving past Exit 6, but the actual "mall" part doesn't exist anymore, correct? Today it looks more like there's 8 stores down there, not 50.

Royal Bridge Mall, I have never heard of. Any idea when this was torn down, and what area of Nashua was this in? Also did the Zayre become an Ames, or just close? I visited Nashua many times as a small child but when my parents divorced in 1994 I never went back. When I got my license in 2005, I began talking with a girl who lived there at the time and became a frequent visitor of Nashua. When I came back after an 11 year gap the town was unrecognizable to me. Obviously as a little kid (I was seven in 1994), you wouldn't know your barrings too well, but I can't really place where Rich's would be, though I've definitely been there 2 or 3 times. To me, Nashua is just too overdeveloped, but I guess a lot of people live there...it just stuns me how many Supermarkets and Drug Stores need to be in one area....and makes me sad how the dept store landscape has died! It's a struggle to even find a K-Mart in a 70 mile radius to my my area anymore!
While we're on the subject of Nashua though, maybe jmc could pinpoint this, any idea when Toys R' Us was built and if/when it ever had a remodel?

The Child World of Nashua was gone before 1985. There was no toy store until TRU opened in south Nahsua in the 90's. VERY sad times for the rest of my youth!!

Another larger format clothing stores inside the Nashua Mall was Anderson Little.
Here's a shopping bag found at my Mom's.
