Purity Surpeme

There was a supermarket chain called purity surpeme that closed about 10 years ago!

here is the one in brockton mass near the westgate mall. it was 52,000 square feet. it is now a.c. moore and another store.

I believe these bought out Heartland supermarkets and converted them in the mid to late 80s. For some reason it didn't last and Heartland soon returned. Stop & Shop bought them, changed them to Stop & Shops then closed them. The one near me in Seekonk is now a Kohl's.

theres was one by my friends house in Pelham first purity supreme then victory now hannafords but across the street in the woods near his house i found a purity supreme cart i left it because ity was far in and frozen to ground [put 9i will get this summer and but up some pictures

The former Purity Supreme in Saugus, MA is now a Shaw's (and before that a Star Market).  I think this closed longer than 10 years ago, more like 15-18 years ago.

I think there is already a thread about this.  They were bought out by Stop & Shop.

The history on Purity Supreme

OK, They were part of Pathmark for awhile(Supermarket General).  Had stores in Ct in Wetersfield and Newington and Mancherster (the last two were Heartland Warehouse stores, the cheapest stores in the state.)

Looks pretty good. There is a twin ps cart hanging around at building 19 in Nashua!!

yea i saw it when i went there and got pics but that one has the new logo at bldg 19 it just says puritys not purity supreme

A moment of silence please for the founder of Purity Supreme, Leo Kahn, who passed away this week at 94.  The Heartland Food Warehouse in South Portland, Maine ended up becoming a Staples, the office supply chain he co-founded.  Maybe in retrospect that was not a coincidence.  Rest in peace, Mr. Kahn...
