It ain't because of the economy. It's because the stuff CC sells is overpriced and can be bought for less money at Best Buy. In Meriden, CT both are within spitting distance of one another. CC is in the Chamberlain Plaza and BB is in The Meriden Square Mall. The Mall is in back of the Chamberlain Plaza. And I have it on good authority that BB in Meriden does more sales than that CC does.

The pike has CC and BB right across the street from one another also.  Don't really go to eighter store though.

Wow our circuit city haven't even been here for two years. Ours is a tiny one same with Best Buy its a decent store. Bestbuy has more traffic then Circuit city here

150+ stores are closing now, including withdrawals in several markets.

Locally, Patchogue/Holbrook, Bay Shore, East Northport, Massapequa and Lake Grove, NY are closing.

They wont be around much longer only one thats closeing near me is in Nyack in the Pallasaids Mall its only been there for 10 years but it dosent shock me that there closing that one they already have a Best Buy there.
