News: Happy Holidays to everyone on the forum! It's been another great year of topics. 2018 will be a great year. The other Admin, Jon is supposed to be coming up to Connecticut this coming spring or summer to meet up with me. Mayhem will sure to follow us. LOL. Gonna visit the still vacant AMES HQ in Rocky Hill, the last vacant AMES in Connecticut located in Seymour, and going to hit up one of the 3 remaining K-MARTS in Connecticut. As a side trip we're probably going to hit Northern Mass and meet up with Chris the founder of the AMES Fan Club. ~ Brammy. New Email brammy82@mail.com

And if somebody lives near there on this board, why don't they go down and witness it for themselves.

while I was in high school, I worked at the home offices for 3 summers - I worked in Vendor Assistance/Relations.  My first summer was 4 months after they filed bankruptcy the 1st time.  And I got to tell vendors where their money was.  That was "fun".  ;-)

Haha I had a guy arguing with me that he was down south last year and there was still a Bradlees open....in my head I know Bradlees never made it anywhere near where this guy was talking...funny the people that think they can blow smoke up your ass...
Of course this type of idea is an impossible dream

Hahaha, I remember this thread.  Good times.

It was probably some kid indulging in a fantasy of his favorite defunct store re-opening.  We've all been there. (Well, at least I have...)

Since the last post on this thread just turned 3 yrs. old, guess I will jump in.

I have a lot of colorful stories about Ames associates I've worked with in the past, but I would be
highly reticent to post them on a public web board.  Even if I did not name them some of those folks
might recognize themselves, and some might object.

I think that is why this thread sees such a low volume of postings.

Felt I'd Bump and say that I never Worked there but Visited It Today (The 6th of July) to say that It's not grabbed up or Demoed and is till standing. It still has "Employment Entrance" and "Main Entrance" signs. Plan to release the Video in a Compilation with all Other Vacant Ames (Plus 1 Bradlees in Manchester) on my YouTube. And After Reading the Next Pages, I Can Conclude that this was a Hoax and that there is no Ames location at the Address listed according to Google. (There is a "dd Discount" though i'm sure it has no relation.)
If Anyone Needs a Logo of sorts, I want to be a graphic designer when i'm older, and I Know HTML coding so i'm also good for websites.
