Curious blue cart at Goodwill

I was ringing up some Sega Genesis games that I bought, when I saw a blue shopping cart behind me. It had "Goodwill" index cards plastered over the three panels that would show the original logos. Now, on the inside of the cart, there was this little "Do not leave your child unattended" notice, with the slogan "Because We Care". "We Care" was Jamesway's old slogan. But- the index card on the front of the cart was placed just enough to reveal what looked like a lowercase "i". Plus, I'm pretty sure Jamesway never used blue colored shopping carts. Does anyone know what store this cart could have belonged to??

I wish I could've snapped a pic, but the cart was right in front of the counter. Plus I didn't have my camera with me. I'll see if I can get some pictures next time.

I'm guessing Thrifty Payless:huh:

I've seen the "Because We Care" slogan on Target carts also.

peel back the sign.  i was at an ocean state job lot the other day.  i tried to peel back the plastic that covered the original store's name.   it cracked and i got nervous, so i left.  i will be back there tomorrow, and will try again.   the store is in an old ames, so i am curious to see whose shopping carts they are.

CTAmeshopper

maybe it's Goodwill?:dizzy:

:insane:

Not to get off topic, but you have this topic as a poll.  You might want to fix that.

Well, if it was Goodwill, then why would they plaster index cards over the logos

I agree, go back and pull that thing off.  I've seen OSJL do a few different things, from grinding the logo off, spray painting, and/or putting stickers over.  I usually just take a cart out of the store or somewhere far back if I want to pull the sticker off.  As for the pictures I usually take pictures inside stores with my cell phone camera, it looks a lot less obvious!

Maybe it's a Shop Rite cart they have a lower case i and their carts are blue (found that out from news footage in a Shop Rite about food prices.)

here's a pic of one from the Hoboken Hero blog( http://hobokenhero.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html) WAY TOO BIG to post here so here's a link.

you might want to get mirror just in case it's impossible to take it off, aim in a way that you can tell what's behind it and take a picture, I just giving suggestions never tried this myself actually, good luck!

Could you tell where the "i" was located in the name?, was it at the end or did it look like it was between the other letters of the word? what style was it? did it look san serif, or more hand made like?

videogamer75

well.....the "I" (or it may have been an L" was at the very front of the word. They taped on that index card pretty good....yet, the value city cart they have shows the logo quite clearly

store215

Just peel it off when nobody's looking..i'm sure the Goodwill employees aren't going to care.
Just my guesses if it was an i:
Could be from iparty (a party store chain like Party City)
or iGoldberg (a very small chain of army/navy stores that is/was based in the Philly area. I think they still have one location open in the city itself.) They didn't use a lowercase i in their last years though. However when there was one near me (in a former 2 story Silo Electronics), they used recycled carts from Jamesway and spray painted over the logo.

I think we're getting closer!

here's an iParty cart from Travis Curran on Flickr the "i" does indeed sort of look like a lowercase L ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/traviscurran/96525875/in/set-72057594074235477/ )

again, too big here's the link

i went back to osjl, they are walmart carts.

Well, I went back to that Goodwill and found out that it was a Ross cart.  The way the index card was placed made it look like there was a lowercase i in the name, because there is a strange looking R in their name. It looks like a Z with a small L under it and they are not connected, and when you cover up most of the letter it looks like this:

A clothing store chain with stores nationwide, similar to Marshalls or T.J. Maxx, it's a cheap store that's not really worth going into.

The Ross in Philadelphia is a former Penn Fruit/Acme. The Acme closed in early 2002, with the current logo.
