This was a grocery chain that was founded in Texas, (it was a part of a company which is now called Rice Epicurean Markets that also had stores named under Grocery World and Rice Food Markets)  but had stores in Connecticut also, I know there was one in Torrington, CT at the Torrington Plaza (where Staples is now) back around 1993 (replacing the Stop & Shop that moved to the then new plaza near Water Street around 1991) which later moved around 1994 to where Big Lots is now (across from Walmart and Price Chopper) it then closed around 1997 in trying to compete with the Price Chopper across the street, which it then was replaced by Odd Lots and later Big Lots.

I remember that this chain had red metal shopping carts in two sizes, a regular big one, and a smaller one for kids (you can never start too early hehe.) I only remember that it had a lot of wooden food stands with fruit and vegetables inside like you see on the street usually, but I'm still fuzzy on the rest of the details, it felt more like a food store rather than a supermarket.

I know this was a grocery chain but I'd figure I'd put it here since it is a defunct chain.
