I came across two great videos of two vintage supermarkets in the Hartford area.

The first one is a tribute video to the now closed A&P Super Foodmart in Newington, which was a walk through of the store a few weeks before closure last August. This one took me by complete surprise:

The other is a walk through of the vintage looking Stop and Shop in Farmington/Unionville. I'm not sure if this one is closed yet, as this was also taken in August of last year, and I hear a new one is being built on the same site:

ENJOY!

I think that Unionville Stop & Shop was previously an Edwards and perhaps before that a Finast.  Stop & Shop acquired it when Royal Ahold bought Stop & Shop in 1996.  At that time Edwards stores either became Stop & Shops or were sold to other chains.

The Unionville S&S was indeed a Finast. It actually use to be located in Collinsville but moved to Unionville and I was told that it burnt to the ground in 1969. So the one you see today that will be torn down soon isn't even the original for that location.
