Forget Gilford...that's for sure, they'll never open there...  A location on the NH Seacoast would be nice, especially in Portsmouth!

About the future Augusta store, $60,000 worth of damage has been done to the former Ames by vandals:

Kennebec Journal

Police Log

AUGUSTA -- Weekend vandalism at a Turnpike Mall construction site caused nearly $60,000 in damage, according to Augusta police.

Police said the incident took place sometime Saturday night at the site of the former Ames department store, which is being renovated for a new store. Augusta Police Sgt. Mark Desjardin said the damage was discovered Sunday morning by one of the contractors working at the site.

The officer said it appeared that a Bobcat skid-steer loader was started and used to cause substantial damage to the walls of the building along with a trailer used as an office at the construction site. Also damaged were a boom-truck parked behind the building, an excavator and the skid-steer loader itself. The cab of the boom- truck sustained major damage, said Desjardin.

Evidence was recovered by Augusta police detectives and the investigation is continuing, Desjardin said.

with them reconstructing the granite state marketplace in hooksett with wal-mart moving, some people want a christmas tree shops there.

it is hard to keep track of places where X-mas tree shops is on shopping center wishlists.

Christmas Tree Shops taking shape in Augusta ME. (former Ames).  CTS will be in the left part of the building and will not have a door to the Turnpike Mall hallway.  By the way, they just launched a new website.

Does anyone think Christmas Tree Shops can move into the former Shaw's Supermarket on Route 10 in Southington, Connecticut?

when does the one in augusta open? I heard rumors of one coming in Portsmouth in the old Home Depot that is moving in the old business center area.

one will come in York pennsylvania next year

one opens in ROchester New york

what about Buffalo new york or will they say that buffalo is where you are nearing the midwest (it is 2 hours from OHio border). Maybe put one in the Walden GAlleria or something.

Zayre88

The opening in Augusta is for Fall 2006...  probably before december....?

The style of Augusta will be similar to the newly opened Freehold NJ store...  (see pic below)

I actually work at the Salem NH CTS store.

(Which used to be a Childworld. In fact, there's an electrical box out back that still has a big yellow  CHILD WORLD sticker on it.)

Anywho, Bed Bath and Beyond bought us out in '03. The word we get is that they're planning something like 5 new stores a year, and eventually to go coast to coast.

Imagine a CTS store in Vegas. Good god man.

I remember it being a child world. I not

It might take years for X-mas tree shops to go to vegas. and coast coast??

one in moosic (NEAR SCRANTON) pa is opening soon and york pa opens this fall and one is planned in portsmouth. I cant think of anywhere else in NH to put one. How about Bangor for another maine location (Say wal-mart is moving next year and how about if they lease some of WAl-marts old space) I wonder if they will open in Buffalo as rochester, albany and syracuse and NYC have one and I bet one will go near the walden galleria or something like that. BUFFALO IS A GOOD market for them there (As niagara falls is near) but buffalo is nearing the midwest (it is 3 hours from cleveland). I read site plans of one (http://www.storetrax.com/uploadExtra/11338/11338/11338_Brochure_Insert.pdf) in allentown (Another good market). But I bet they will put one in one of the Phili suburbs like near King of Prussia or whatever (I know one is in cherry hill). I bet Harrisburg PA will be another market for them. I wonder if one will go to Waterford Ct (near new london) as that is near the ocean and a major retail area. I wonder if they will go to Wilmington delaware? I cannot think of any more for vermont as burlington is their only big market (Rutland is not too big) or RI or CT.

NOTIce now they are rebuilding the south hills mall in poughkeepsie, I bet they will put one there and poughkeepsie (though one is in danbury) is a good market as there is every retail store imaginable there.  they have one in the holyoke mall and that is their only mall store.

The X-mas tree shops I have seen and or been to are NH: Salem and Nashua; Vt: Williston; MA: Orleans, Dennis, Yarmouth, the late first Yarmouthport store, Hyannis, Falmouth, North Attleboro, Shrewsbury, HOlyoke, Avon, PEmbroke, Lynnfield and Somerville; NY: Rochester (I saw it under construction), Albany and SYracuse; CT: Danbury and MAnchester; RI: WArwick

I have not seen the ones in CT:ORange; MA: Dartmouth; RI: Newport; NY: Spring Valley and Hartsdale; NJ: Cherry Hill, Freehold and Paramus; PA: Moosic. But I will soon.

Breaking news!  Christmas Tree Shops will open in Portsmouth NH:

Done!

After 6 months of anticipation and debate over mainly traffic issues, the board approved a plan to build a Christmas Tree Shops, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and a third unknown retailer at the site of Home Depot, at 100 Durgin Lane in Portsmouth.

SITE PLAN:

I looked around the board and found no CTS topic.  Tell me if i'm wrong.  Anyway, they will be opening a new store in North Conway NH in a former Ames.

http://www.atlanticretail.com/images/content/NorthConwayNH_NorthwayPlaza.pdf

That store was kinda small.  I think that CTS is coming with a new smaller version of their concept.  The new location in Augusta Maine is not very large.  The company used the 60,000 Ames to open a CTS and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Another store will also open in the vacant Home Depot in Portsmouth, NH. (A Bed,Bath & Beyond will also open there)

patk

the york pa store :)

theres one coming to lancaster pa :o

theres one coming to harrisburg pa :o

Christmas Tree Shops/Bed,Bath & Beyond combo under construction in Portsmouth, NH at the former Home Depot site.

Mobil

One opened about a year ago in Wilmington, DE, and a brand new one is in Downingtown, PA. They are owned by Bed Bath & Beyond.

Christmas Tree Shop is opening a new concept store called Christmas Tree Shop Express. It will be open November-January. There will be one at The Westfield Meriden Square Mall in Meriden, CT. It will be on the 1st floor of the Macy's wing where the glow-in-the-dark miniature golf place used to be.

After a  successful run this past holiday season with Christmas Tree Express, Christmas Tree Shop has announced it is open a permanent store at the Meriden Square Mall in the former Border's location this summer.

The store exterior is more simple, without that usual CTS building design...

I think the new stores seem to have a more simple look.

There is also one that just opened at the Neshaminy Mall, in Bensalem, PA, where recently was a "Rainbow" outlet.

The full 6 that opened this year are:
Braintree, MA
Concord, NH
Leominster, MA
Nashua, NH
Meriden, CT
Bensalem, PA

Not a fan of the new style, but then again BBBY has been dumbing down CTS for years.

Christmas Tree Shops Express appears to be a great idea!

ynkeesfn82

The Christmas Tree Express store in at the Westfield Meriden Square Mall is in the old Border's. They only use the mall entrance and do not use the exterior entrance that Border's had.

ynkeesfn82

I heard on Facebook that Bed Bath Beyond is looking to sell The Christmas Shop and if they can't find a buyer they will close.

If they do close husbands everyone will cheer hurray!  ::)
