This place definitely has true bargains.  Sounds cheesy, but it's one of my favorite stores to shop at!

From e-mails that i received, i know that people want to have a Christmas Tree Shop in their town.  The only one in Maine is in Scarborough.  There are rumors about a new one in Bangor and Augusta.  

It's a cool place to shop and it's fun to have a place like that in town.  The Scarborough store is always crowded, it's a success !

In New York State there is on in Albany(the state's first store), Syracuse, and Spring Valley.

Did anyone else know that Christmas Tree Shops is owned by Bed Bath and Beyond?

What was interesting was a recent news article about their new New Jersey store mentioned how there was a large selection of closeout patio things from Linen's and Things:insane:

If fact, the company was acquired by BB&B in june 2003.  Right now, the former Ames in Augusta ME is under renovation and a Christmas Tree Shops and BB&B will open there....

There are always rumors that Christmas Tree Shoppes are coming to this town or that town. I head those rumours when I lived in Bristol. I'm hearing them now that I live in Southington.  There's no room on Queen Street (Route 10) for one. Stick it up on West Street (Route 229). People are planning on buiding a new shopping center there.

Christmas Tree Shoppe and Target would be good for Southington. Since Ames and KMART closed down the only place to shop in Southington is Walmart. (In the old CALDOR)

Christmas Tree Shops has just built a HUGE location across from the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. This location is probably the biggest I have ever seen for Christmas Tree Shops!

This is an unusual store set-up.

There is a parking garage of 3 stories, which connects the Christmas Tree building to the IKEA.  On the 1st floor, you can park UNDER the CTS, then take an elevator up to the store.  The 2nd floor is Bed Bath & Beyond, and the 3rd floor is Christmas Tree.

It is quite large inside, but not as obvious as it could be due to many "sections" and dividers - and only 1 entry (unlike some in malls that have 2).

No picture - it is rather hard to shoot, plus from the outside it looked relatively plain, probably due to the multi-uses of the building.

there are always rumors like i heard a small one of one coming to the seacost nh, gilford nh (hahaha that is unlikley) in the reconstruction of hte lakes region plaza, one in dedham mass, etc. it is a popular store and is on shopping center / consumer wishlists.

they are building one in rochester ny and I wonder if one in buffalo will come? there was a questing asking if a second one around syracuse will come. i saw in a site plan one is coming to allentown. I wonder if one will be near philadelphia in the state of PA.

Forget Gilford...that's for sure, they'll never open there...  A location on the NH Seacoast would be nice, especially in Portsmouth!  

About the future Augusta store, $60,000 worth of damage has been done to the former Ames by vandals:

Police Log

AUGUSTA -- Weekend vandalism at a Turnpike Mall construction site caused nearly $60,000 in damage, according to Augusta police.

Police said the incident took place sometime Saturday night at the site of the former Ames department store, which is being renovated for a new store. Augusta Police Sgt. Mark Desjardin said the damage was discovered Sunday morning by one of the contractors working at the site.

The officer said it appeared that a Bobcat skid-steer loader was started and used to cause substantial damage to the walls of the building along with a trailer used as an office at the construction site. Also damaged were a boom-truck parked behind the building, an excavator and the skid-steer loader itself. The cab of the boom- truck sustained major damage, said Desjardin.

Evidence was recovered by Augusta police detectives and the investigation is continuing, Desjardin said.
