National Army Stores

Does anyone from the Northern New York area remember a chain called National Army Stores?  They were around since the 1940's and at one time there were quite a few stores in the NNY area (Canton, Potsdam, Ogdensburg, Massena, Potsdam, to name a few.)  I think they were based somewhere in the Adirondacks.  Anyway, the entire chain went out of business in about 1992 and after being vacant for the past 15 years, our store in Ogdensburg NY is the last one to be taken over by another chain.  It is now boarded up for renovations, but yesterday's Ogdensburg Journal says that the store will become a Label Shopper by mid-April.
