<snort> I never had a problem with CVS. I just never go there anymore. When I lived with my grandparents and my aunt, back in the 80's, we went a lot. But now, if I MUST go to a real drug store, it's Rite-Aid (ex-Eckerd) or Walgreens (brand spanking new). Oh, and Walgreens takes food stamps...CVS doesn't, that I know of, anyway.

I might just have to adopt CVS as my drugstore. Eckerd is gone, Rite Aid is an unreliable dying chain, and I hate Walgreens. But that's a topic for the bashing thread... In fact, Walgreens never really had any stores around here until late.

No offense, but it seems to be a common misconception... "Rite Aid" does not have a hyphen.

Hmmm, a CVS bashing page?!! I've never had a problem with CVS. I guess the cvs card to take advantage of the sale would probably be the only thing I could think of, but doesn't almost every retailer have those savings cards now???
There is a lot in store for you where clean, fresh and good make a GRAND UNION.

Ahhhhhh hyphen. lol I use them extensively, and massively wrong. Sorry about that :) I'd much rather it have stayed Eckerd, since I worked for them for a time. It was only because of a rogue boss that I left there, or else I'd probably still be there. I got fired because I took time off for having a nervous breakdown, I went to Jersey to chill for a week and when I got back, they said I "quit" but they fired me........idiots. blah. Might head out to CVS next week when I'm out and about buying my school books, or at the eye doc on Tuesday...

As for the savings card thing, I have more of those things on my keychain that I NEVER use, than the ones I DO use. Got Get Go gas yesterday, forgot my keychain that has the card on it, didn't matter with gas being 2.69 anyway.....phht. gas prices suck. My point, I have 30 of those keychain card things, and I use them maybe once a year...when I remember.

All I ask for is one universal card that will get me the sale prices at any store. That way if I'm on vacation and I stop at a store I don't have a card for, it wouldn't matter.

On my key chain I have:

Shaw's (none around here anymore).
Southington Public Library (Wonder if that will work at The Bristol Library).
Shoprite
Border's
CVS
Stop & Shop
Price Chopper

You're missing the most important savings card of all...

Dude, they have no stores in my area, :bouncing:

Retail Fan+ (Justin Hill)

In most of the Midwest, they took over Osco Drug. CVS/Pharmacy competes with Walgreens and ShopKo Express Rx in my neck of the woods. CVS looks cheap compared to their competition, no matter where you live.

My CVS card along with many others........I have

Westmoreland Library Network
CVS
Dick's Sporting Goods
Sam Goody
Shop N Save PERKS
Shop N Save REWARDS
PETCO Pals
Giant Eagle Advantage
Spencer's the underground
Petsmart PetPerks

I worked for CVS "part-time" from November 2004 until December 2005. I'd be happy to entertain any questions...

Truck day was always a fun day. The photo lab life with the photo makers was okay too. haha

I currently work at a newer CVS.

The only thing that bothers me is Truck Day. Too many totes, not enough people. That and for a newer store, we have very outdated registers.

zonemad96

Cvs is just eh what is their to say really? Their stores are outdated but not outdated enough to remodel them. Their not as nice and new as walgreens and their not as crappy and rundown as Right aid. Their just smack dab in the middle i hadnt been to cvs in about 5 years and when i went their the other day geuss what ... nothing changed just same old boring cvs.

ynkeesfn82

I usually avoid CVS like the plague. I prefer Walgreens. In fact I wish the CVS next to my work would close my store can put in a pharmacy.  The only thing keeping the CVS open next to my work is all the Shoprite employees buying their cigarettes there because my Shoprite does not sell them.

Hudsons81

I still miss Arbor Drugs-CVS acquired them to enter the highly-competitive Detroit market.

OK, CVS.  So you quit selling cigarettes and tobacco products.
And you have made a number of very sanctimonious public statements about that.

All well and good.  But I see where you are actually wasting twelve feet of counter space behind
the registers where the smokes used to be with signage bragging about what a wonderful thing
you have done.  Not replace it with better or healthier merchandise....just signage doing more bragging
about your decision.

All I can think of is a particular DM I had at Ames who would come to visit your store
armed with figures about exactly how much the building was costing them per square foot.
Every time he saw an empty spot on the shelf without merchandise he would beat you about
the head for a few minutes with a stream of facts and figures about precisely how much that empty
spot was costing the company.

And we are talking over twelve feet of absolute nothing here.
