here is the berkshire mall in lanesboro mass on the border of pittsfield mass. the mall was built in september 1988 with a 111,000 sf steiger's, a 80,850 sf hill's department store (THE ONLY HILLS IN NEW ENGLAND!!!), sears, jc penny, a 55,000 sf service merchandise. Old navy came to the mall and so did Kb toys within the last 7 years. the service merchandise closed in 1999 with 132 other stores. it became a 31,000 sf Best buy and Linens n things in 2001 or 2002. REgal cinema is in the mall. the mall has 80-90 store capacity. Stieger's became Filene's in 1994 and filene's becomes macy's in 2006. Hill's became Ames in early 1999 and that closed in late 2002 and that got demolished in 2005 and rebuilt into a 126,000 sf Target store that opened early MArch 2006. the mall is 670,000 sf

this mall has gotten REAL REAL BAD and why? as its the only mall till Albany or Holyoke. it lost half the smaller stores, Best buy, JC PENNY RECENTLY, Macys. Now for anchors it just has Target which owns the building as does the Cinema, and Sears which I am surprised is open. IT appears to never have been remodeled.

Maybe I'll check out this sometime in the first half of 2018, even though my dad needs to get a much more fuel efficient car. 13 mpg isn't good (its from 2003 too!).

The mall has an empty JC PENNY that closed, closed BEST BUY, vacant Linens n things, closed MACYS and half inline empty stores, and a targe that owns its own building.
