Yes, BK is way better than McDonalds. I remember the "Tacos" and the Jalepeno Poppers kicked ass.

Yeah the tacos didn't last to long. They did taste funny but I liked them. Right now my BK favorite is their Angus Burger.

Burger King has fallen on difficult times here of late. In my part of the country (Southern Indiana) most of the old locations have gone out of business alltogheter and many more are rumored to follow.

Here's an abandoned burger king on Main St. in Downtown Buffalo, NY that closed about 7-8 years ago. This place is ROUGH both inside and outside. The awning was very recently taken off. Anybody know when this was built?
here's an older one which has been remodeled. I think the ones with the wood are older (I ate in a BK from 1984 and it had it). Judging by the design id say circa 1980. I absolutely HATE BK's blue roofs. It makes their places look more like a preschool than a restaurant!!. RESTAURANTS SHOULD NEVER HAVE BLUE ROOFS!!! Seeing an 80's burger king with one of those ugly blue roofs just saddens me..lol I love how on 95% of the pre-2000 BK's you can see how they modified the signs to the new crescent logo, but they are still in the shape of the old one. We ate at this one on our class trip on our way to pitsburgh and all my friends were asking me why I was taking a pic of a burger king lol...This restaurant also had playland, which me and my friends played in (Who says 13 year olds cant have fun in a Burger King playland??) This one's PL still had signs fror the Burger King kids Club (A group of very 80's-ish fictional kides who promoted the kids meal. They were recently discontinued.)

yep..The age of Burger kings are pretty easy to identify. I found out one restaurant was built around 1984 by art festival poster paintings inside!! This one I found out becuse my aunt told me.
Most of the "woodies" as I call them are from the early-mid 80's I'm guessing..
The design after that (like the '88 BK above) was late 80's-2000 when they went to the "daycare center" look:( Anybody know for sure?

Yes i do have one in moy town it was bult in the 1970s and it still has the old logo it was rentvated in 1997 and they gave it a 1950s look but the out side has teh old logo and the new onme:yup:
The BK near me just recently changed its signage to the new type...it too is a "Woodie" style building, and I'm guessing it's from the late 70s-early 80s. I know it's been there at least since 1987 because that'swhen a car wash was built next to it, and in all the newspapers (accessed thanks to my library's microfilm collection lol) the location is described as being "next to Burger King." Plus, it just has a really old look inside--my memories of it from the age of 4 and today are the same...

The one by me does. It was just built about 3 or 4 years ago. They tore down an old school, and built the new restaurant, and left the old one vacant. About a year after that Taco Bell tore down the old Burger King to build a new location, and left their old buliding vacant. And THAT building is now some kind of Carribean restaurant.

Plenty. The only ones I can think of that don't are the ones in malls. My favorite Burger King is the one in Willow Grove Pa. Its on this nice corner and it has a little playground. It opened in the early-mid 70's. It hasn't been remodeled to much since then. Still older fashioned there. The playground was rebuilt around the early 90's though. I wish I had a picture of it.

Burger King's okay, but if I had a choice I'd rather eat at FatBurger. And no, I'm not a red meat junkie.. I actually prefer their charbroiled turkeyburger. But anywho, when I do have a regular burger I prefer Carl's Junior or Wendy's.
Back in the early 90's Burger King introduced a new sandwhich that was only offered for a limited time. It was called the Cheese Trio. I don't know for certain what cheeses were on it, but I think it was at least Swiss and Cheddar.
At the time I remember thinking this was the best burger I'd ever had.. hey, I was a teenager and at that stage of my life I'd outgrown Nickelodeon and had started to appreciate Nick at Nite.

The first shot is the Kingston store on Route 9W - kind of a mix of styles (the wood wall, glass atrium etc.etc.)
2nd is the Western Ave location (just below the Fuller Rd intersection) - it has been redone and appears to be bringing back some of the old (the blue appendage, particularly).
3rd is the Western Ave location (a bit below Rt 155 intersection). An older building with the atrium added to it.
4th is the Lenox (MA) location - this one had a fire several months ago and is still closed (but must be getting closer to opening with the hiring sign). Different dersign (and that was there - the fire was mainly in the back/kitchen areas and about all you saw from the outside was some melted siding).
5th & 6th are the North Adams location (in the plaza with the former Kmart) - unusual for the rather large sign (more like a road sign, which they don't really have) and the lettering over the atrium (another older style).
Last is the Bennington location - another wood wall styled building.
All have drive thrus.
The larger top photo is the location in Oneonta, on Route 23, kind of between the SouthSide mall and the Super WalMart.
The sign is at the location on Route 7 in the main part of Oneonta - I didn't get the building, but the sign is an older style. There is also what appears to be a 3rd location, at the corner of Routes 7 & 23 in the West End, but it is closed and I didn't get a shot of that one.
The last is the Cobleskill store on Route 7.
Here's the vacant one in the west end. And, on a side note, it is front of the old Ames location.

The one in Bristol, Connecticut at 1033 Farmington Ave (Rte. 6) has been there forever. A friend fo mine was a big shot at the now-defunct radio station that was located in a small plaza next to BK from 1976-1986 and he tells me almost ever day he and a couple of his coworkers would go to that Burger King and they would make them "The WBIS Special". This was a special snadwhich I forgot what it was that they would sell to all the employees of WBIS Radio. In the early 90s they were closed for a few months because of a grease fire.
The BK in Bristol on the corner of Route 6 (North Street) and Federal Street in the Rite Aid Plaza is pretty good. It's a lot nicer than the McDonald's that is lcocated down the street. Last I was there they still had an outdoor playground.
There was a BK on Route 10 in Plainville. It closed in the early 90s and then reopened and closed again for good about 5 years ago. It is now a Italian Take-Out place called Bosco's.
For an unusual BK you've gotta check out the one in the Shaw's Plaza on Route 10 in Southington. From the outside it looks like your typical BK, but inside the dining room it's like a sports bar. A few of the tables are shaped like homeplate. Along the back wall is a phony scoreboard thing that show ficitional scores of all the baseball teams. There's sports memoriblia hanging up on the walls in the dining room. Also unusal is the fact that it opens at 7AM. That's a bad thing consider the fact the McDonald's which is in sight of this BK is open 24/7. This BK also serves burgers for breakfast if you so choose. They have an indoor playarea.
The last time I went to New York City, which was in November 2004 I ate at 3 different BKs. I had my lunch at the one of 5th Avenue near the Empire State Building. A couple hours later I was thirsty and got a soda at the one located in Little Brazil on 46th Street. And then I got an after supper dessert at the one located right next to Ground Zero. (Nope didn't have BK for supper. I had McDonald's. The one across the street from the building housing The Fox News Channel).
I also saw an abandoned one in Lee Massachusetts in the early 2000s. I haven't been back ot Lee since, so I don't know if anything ever moved in.

Here's an interesting story about Diane McKellar who runs the BK in the Portland area since 1977, her struggle with the company and the closing of 3 locations... In the story, we learn that she once had 7 locations, closed three and now has three BK left, so Brighton ave. must have closed shortly before that.

After working in retail and food service for a couple years, a lot of horror can only be experienced if you've worked there including nasty secrets that would make you cease dining there. Let's just say it's like another world behind that counter versus ordering from it.

7 years ago my late mother got sick (she did not die of it) befcause of the food at the one in concord nh on loudon rd and the place was dirty and 6 months after my family and I never at there again after service there was so bad. I have not eaten at that one in 7 yeras and the one in salem too.
Burger King in Bristol, Connecticut (on Rt. 6) typically has repeatedly good service during the afternoon. No matter what store you visit, I find their food (apart from their food made to order) too often tastes like it's been sitting around for hours. I heard some bad stories from former employees, but not all BKs are bad.
Our BK, pictured on top of this page, has a very very slow drive thru service. They're no good at it. even when you're alone in the line, it takes several minutes to get your order. McDonald's is way better and faster at this but i prefer BK for the food.
The one in Southington in Shaw's Plaza is very slow as well. And I've even had the manager screw up my order. They also like to harass their applicants. 4 times they left messages for me saying for me to call them to schedule an interview. That was a little obcessive. If after 2 times of not returning phone calls they shouldve realized I wasnt interested.

the one in streetsboro ohio messed up my order when I was there last june. they forgot 2 of my food and I called the restuarant when I noticed and they denied it and I was going to call the manager.
I've got a story that beats that, tho it happened at the Golden Arches and not BK. This was many years ago. My dad ordered 6 Big Macs. (2 for me and 2 for him and 2 left over for the next day). Well when we got the home the meat was missing from the sandwiches.

They been there for quite a long time. From 1976-1986 a friend of mine was a big shot at the now-defunct Bristol Radio Station WBIS AM 1440, which was located in the office plaza next door. The ones in my town are like that. Although the Franchisee is a huge company, they don't do jack for the stores in my town. Hehe, I used to love the BK in Webster, MA, my brother works there now. Great service and food, rather eat there than McDonalds, although most others do tend to suck.
Papa Ginos was my first job, I started as cashier and worked my way through management, and I agree, some people that work at these places are slimeballs and make those horror stories come true!

Does anyone remember Burger King's original chicken tenders? They used to be "stick" shaped, and were dark brown and notoriously crispy and delicious. I remember when BK had Jalepeno Poppers, those things were bomb. Their attempt at tacos years ago was hilarious, they looked like soggy turds, although they tasted pretty good. My bro has worked for Burger King in Webster, MA for years, and I take BK over McDonalds anyday so I'm there pretty often.
We had a case last year of the Southbridge, MA Burger King. Some employees burnt it down so they wouldn't have to work there anymore and they just got sentenced not too long ago! I guess they blamed it on rowdy late night customers, but register records showed no business since 8:00 and they got busted.
The other BK in Southbridge is now a Chinese restaurant.

The Burger King in Norwich, CT is currently a pile of rubble. They are "remodeling" and will re-open soon. Funny they did the same thing to the McDonald's half a mile up the street a few months ago.
I wonder why its easier to knock it down and rebuild then just do a traditional remodel.

Plainville is cool....I've never been there (or even north of Jersey), but from the pictures I've seen, it just screams retro.

Burger Kings looked so much nicer when they had wood roofs and such....I mean, take the Clay, NY BK picture on page 4, that interior doesn't remind me of a fast food restaurant and it makes me want to eat at BK. The new one just reminds me of a smaller McDonald's!

Funny thing, one of the Burger King's in my town just vanished last year. I don't normally travel the road that it's on so I rarely ever went to that one. The last time I was there it was still operational. Recently I drove by to find the only remains of it were the parking lot and half of the sign, just the part that says "breakfast". No idea why they closed it.
They aren't doing some sort of building update are they?
Then again there also was a Hardee's, McDonald's and Long John's that were also closed and demolished right across the road within a five year period.

I just had a chese burger and there just awful im never having there burgers again!
BK rocks, I personally think it has the best fast food out there. I especially love the steakhouse burger and the pies.
Now Chick-Fil-A, that's an awful restaurant. You can guarantee you'll get slow service and long lines there. Food is mediocre at most, and gets more good rep than it deserves.

They do. For a while the marquee under the sign of the Queen Street Southington store had a sign advertising Burgers For Breakfast. They don't propmote that fact very often.

I've been there once already. A bit crispier than the previous generation, but otherwise the typical BK onion ring experience - in other words, lots of onion-flavored breading with no evidence of an actual onion inside.
Edit 10:25PM 2/5 - got another sample from a second BK. One bite revealed a vague white slimy substance resembling an actual onion inside. Must have been a production error... ;D

I'm sure that if Harvey's were to expand into the US, they would possibly do it under a different name, just so people don't confuse it with Hardee's, just like when Burger King expanded into Australia and had to change their name to Hungry Jack's because the Burger King trademark in Australia was already taken by a fish & chips takeout shop. If Harvey's were to expand to the US, I wonder what name they could use? Zed's Burgers? Canuck's?

The Burger King on Winsted Road is still empty. It's vestige of the old Torrington Parkade, so is the old cell phone store and the empty Center Subaru. I wish something would take the Burger King building it's so depressing seeing it empty. :(

Center Subaru moved from their old Sears Auto Center location to a brand new location that previously hosted a used car dealership, a Citgo Station and a garage. All that was torn down to make room for the Subaru dealership. The Torrington Parkade was the previous plaza that existed all the way from 1960's to 2008 it housed an Ames, a Jo Ann Fabrics, Radioshack, a Dollar Tree, a coin laundromat,a few other shops,a Center Subaru,a Burger King, and a Big Y. What's there now is a new Big Y,Radioshack, a wine place, a Cost Cutters, and a Lowes Home Improvement. I think that explains everything.

Whats going on with Burger King in Albany? They seem to be disappearing one by one.. first the one on wolf road goes out now they are saying the one by Kmart might be torn down to become a CarMax along with the Kmart etc soon there is only going to be one in Albany..

Yes, they have been disappearing slowly over quite a bit now.
You also had the one on Central just below the I-90 bridge, one over in Rens. Cty (Schodack) as well as one by Hudson Valley CC (which became a McDonalds before it's current bank/credit union usage), one up Rt 5 not far over the Schnectady line (by the intersection of 5 & 7), and probably others I'm not thinking of.
At least a couple of those (the Central and Schenectady, maybe Wolf Rd too?) were owned by a smaller franchisee (Midon Corp.) and they may have just closed due to franchisee issues. Schodack was a Carrols store (after it's closing and reopening in the 1990's), so not sure why that one went out.
The only couple left I can think of are the one on Central (actually within city limits) and the ones at Fuller & Western and further up Western in Guilderland (before 155).
Plus East Greenbush on 9&20 and Brunswick (Troy) out on Rt 7 by Walmart.

Yeah I noticed all the proofreading errors myself. ABC 40 (WGGB) is a locally owned station and not owned by a major corporation. Not that that should be an excuse, but that probably could be it. This is the same station that a couple years ago they decided to blow-up their Morning Newscast and replace it with an entertainment type news program hosted by Dan and Kim after Clear Channel Radio laid them off from MIX 93.1 after major budget cuts only to cancel that less than 6 months later and going back to serious hard news in the morning after suffering from major ratings loss to 22 News WWLP. (There are only 3 stations in Springfield - WWLP/NBC, WGGB/ABC, and WSHM/CBS and only 2 of them run morning newscasts). But I digress.
My guess is that perhaps this BK Franchise owner owns just that one restaurant in Chicopee or it's the only one he owns that's doing the delivery service.
The old style Burger Kings are being replaced. I hate the new style Burger Kings... it looks like a McDonald's. Different Paint jobs..

I wonder just how many (if all) Jamesway stores had "BK Expressway" restaurants by Burger King inside. Some former Jamesway stores such as the one in Blakeslee PA have become flea markets which have kept all the Jamesway elements inside. It would be interesting how they would have repurposed the former Burger King spaces.

Simply amazing. On occasion I like to go to my local BK in Southington, Connecticut and get a Strawberry-Banana Smoothie. It's located a major thorough-fare and not to far from I-84 and it's just under $4 for a large Strawberry-Banana Smoothie. Wednesday I went to the BK on the corner of Route 6 and North Main Street in Bristol and ordered the same large Strawberry-Banana Smoothie and it was just under $3!!!!
I wonder if Burger King is doing alright so far empty Burger Kings are becoming more and more a common site instead of refurbishing the Burger King in Johnstown NY they oddly just moved to a different site near the new walmart.

I went to a burger king location about 40 mins from my house and noticed they were selling regular hamburgers for 60 cents more than my local location... Needless to say I didn't buy anything.
I just found out a woman was born and abandoned in the restroom of a Burger King in Allentown PA way back in 1986. What an awful way to start a life. Sort of ironically, Lehigh County property records show the Burger King having been built in 1968-1969, and a woman suspected of the crime was reported to leave the restaurant in a beat up car from the early 70's, just a little bit newer.
In the movie Dogma, filmed here in Pittsburgh, the Mooby's burger joint they visit
was actually a closed Burger King restaurant on Banksville Road.
It was later demolished and a Rite Aid now stands on that spot.
Prior to filming the Burger King was repainted in bright shades of purple, and
a big cartoon cow statue was placed out front. Banksville Road traffic slowed to a crawl
as people tried to figure out just what in the heck kind of burger chain was going in there.

Her childhood home would have been in the North Pittsburgh suburb of Wexford.
Burger King ran a commercial in 1986 that must have been filmed somewhere in NYC, and both a Macy's and Abraham & Straus (which was bought by Macy's about 10 years later) can be seen in the ad. The Macy's logo was the same then but the sign is very hard to see in the commercial. Also only the word "Abraham" is readable on the Abraham & Straus store, which I'm sure was chosen on purpose.
And on another topic, I wonder if the Burger King in Evesham, NJ (also in the NYC area) will be closing soon. In recent years both the Super Fresh (former A&P) and Sears Essentials (former Kmart) closed in the shopping center it sits in front of, and since then ALL of several tiny stores in the center have closed one by one.

Burger King is receiving huge back-lash over their "Gay Pride" Whopper. It's a regular Whopper and it's wrapped in a gay pride wrapper. Reportedly they've received 1000s of angry phone calls at their corporate headquarters in Miami and calls to boycotts by numerous Christian/religious groups. Several of these Christian/religious groups are also planning on filing lawsuits against the burger chain.

What's the deal with Burger King selling something called a Yumbo Sandwich? According to their Facebook Page (and BK.COM) it's a Hot & Ham & Cheese Sandwich that originally came out in September 1974. If I was going to get a Ham & Cheese Sandwich from a fast food restaurant - it certainly wouldn't be from BK.
Now I very, very rarely eat fast food. But yesterday, I was in a pinch and snagged a cheeseburger from BK. I saw that on the menu, and saw the name first and then what it was. Yeah, I wasn't even close to interested.
If this is an attempt at a comeback like McRib, I would be surprised if there is as much fan fare for the Yumbo as there was for McRib.
I was alive in the 70's. I ate a LOT of fast food in the 70's.
And I've gotta admit.....I don't even remember the Yumbo.
Nor have I heard anyone fondly reminiscing about it since that time.
They're even airing ads for it, even featuring a recreation of an interior of a 1970's Burger King.
I'm surprised that commercial isn't airing on Me TV, considering that many of the people who were around in September 1974 probably also watched many of Me TV's current shows during primetime in that same timeframe.
I'm also surprised Me TV isn't airing any Kmart ads, but yet they are airing ads for Walmart's $1 pharmacy premium plan for health insurance customers, but wasn't Kmart more prominent back then too? Plus, only two retailers operated supercenters in the 1970's: Meijer and Fred Meyer (and they still do today despite Wally World's ever-increasing presence in their territories).
BK seems to be throwing every conceivable thing against the wall in an attempt to get it to stick. By contrast, McDonald's sticks to its strategy of modularity, building new products out of parts that are already in-house (Triple Cheeseburger, anyone?)

Actually the profitability of Burger King franchises keeps steadily rising, while McDonalds has remained flat for a number of years.
The reason is McDonalds' more complex menu. That equates to more food waste.
Plus the incredibly complex McCafe station eats up a lot of material and labor.

Well, here it is two months later, completely remodeled. The BK on Fort Street north of Goddard Road in Lincoln Park, Michigan (originally a Burger Chef and later an independent, unrelated restaurant called Donut King) now looks like this as well.
I wonder how long it will take before they start remodeling the one at Northline and Allen in Taylor, Michigan.
Didn't go inside to check to see if they had a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, as I was heading straight for the Walmart in the background on the right. This one opened in the very late 1990's, relocating from further down Eureka next to the Southgate Shopping Center.

I have noticed they are really all over the place with their menu. Their was the summer menu with the bk rib, sweet potato fries, bbq pork sandwich, bbq burgers, and frozen lemon-aid which are all gone now their is the four cheese whopper and the yumbo both of which probably wont last long. They also have menu items that seem to be designed to just take up space on their menu like the rodeo sandwiches which are just either a chicken or hamburger patty with onion rings and bbq sauce on it and the a1 bacon burger which is just a regular bacon hamburger with a1 sauce on it.
The biggest kicker is they can have all that crap on the menu but they had to get rid of chicken fries?
I gave in and tried the YUMBO Sandwich today. They should call it the YUCKO Sandwich. It plus a small 20 ounce soda came to $6.25 with tax. For a few cents more I could've gotten fries or O-Rings with it. (I didn't want them). $1.99 for a small soda. >:(
The one on Dix Highway south of Southfield Road in Lincoln Park is being renovated as of yesterday and is already starting to resemble the one in Southgate that I posted earlier on this page.

I did eat something close to a Yumbo in the 70's. My mom would make them at home when it was three days till payday and she was trying to feed six kids in the Jimmy Carter economy. Sure as heck would not pay restaurant prices for one.

I visited this odd location in Milford, OH today. The layout is unlike any BK I've seen before - for example, there were four entrance doors, two in the center and one on either side of that pair. Looked like it hadn't been renovated in a very long time.

Looks like an original Burger King from the 1970s. Notice how the entrance next to the solarium is configured, it would have the "Burger King, Home of the WHOPPER" sign in orange (where the current sign and logo are placed) above it where the roof dips down over the entrance windows and doors. The roof originally had brown or black shingles before their late 1990s-early 2000s transformation period when they painted over it with blue to match the blue "crescent-swoosh" on Burger King's new logo. That is one well-preserved Burger King interior indeed! It possibly dates back to the 1980s, the "Savor Each Moment" poster was added during the "Let's Have a Barbecue!"/"Taste is King" ad campaigns.

Looks like the perfect location for Burger King to film their next Yumbo Sandwich commercial (just kidding! :D).
I love that they kept that vintage sign featuring the 1969-1999 Burger King "bun halves" logo, but it clashes with the newer Burger King roof style, painted royal blue to match the "crescent swoosh" in the 1999-present logo. I think if given the chance, maybe they should renovate the exterior to give it a retro look by reintroducing different shades of brown and black into the paint scheme, by doing away with the blue roof for a black shingled or cedar shingle roof, and keeping the red light fixture that usually caps off the roof the Burger King restaurants are known for.
Burger King used to have a location across from the Greyhound Bus terminal in Portland, Maine. It later relocated to a newer, more upscale location not too far away. Half of the old Portland Burger King has become a Subway Sandwich Shop, while the other half was split off to another restaurant. I do recall it being a huge Burger King on the inside, especially in the dining area with exposed wood rafters in the ceiling (I ate at this location in 1997, my first and only time at this location).

They also used the have one inside the old Greyhound terminal in Detroit. It was previously something else. It possibly closed after Greyhound moved to a newer building about a mile away and the old terminal was torn down for parking garages for the One Detroit Center skyscraper.
The Pittsburgh Greyhound terminal also has a Burger King inside.

The Burger King that is near me, located in Penndel, PA, is still an old school 1980's Burger King, minus the current signage on the building.

There is now also a Burger King inside the Taylor, MI Walmart, which replaced previous tenant Blimpie Subs about a year or two ago during a renovation that also saw the old Walmart logos taken down for new ones.

BK in my neighborhood just underwent a very extensive remodel.
Personally I don't want my burger joint to look upscale and elegant.

I have a story:
I was camping in Monson, MA, and a massive storm hit the area while I camping. So we deiced to go to fast food, and the closest option was Burger King in Sturbridge. When we got there, there was a massive puddle in the parking lot. I kept going in and out of it. This puddle had to be at least 20 feet wide, and 6 inches deep. Here's the thing though, this wasn't just any storm, this was the remnants of Hurricane Mathew in October 2016.

A new Burger King is opening today in the Crafton-Green Tree section of Pittsburgh.
It is at the corner of Noblestown and Baldwick Roads. The site was formerly home to a local
sporting goods store (Reed Sports) and a fresh bread and sandwich shop. Both were
demolished to make room for the new BK.
Ironically enough, directly across the street is a restaurant that was a Burger King
back in the 80's. It closed in the early 90's and is currently a Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe
(a local chain). So BK bailed on this corner because there wasn't enough business,
only to come back twenty-five years later.
Also across the street, on the opposite side of Baldwick, is a Health and Wellness Clinic
run by a chiropractor named Dr. James Winer. He single-handedly keeps a half-dozen
small radio stations in business by buying up hours and hours of airtime during the week
to hawk his products and treatments. I suspect now that he is surrounded by Fast Food
(which he rails against) he will have plenty to talk about.
Back in the day I used to date a girl who lived on Baldwick Rd. and spent plenty of
time at that old BK location.

Geno (MR Caldor on here) and I went to the Queen Street Southington Burger King today. I had the Bacon King Sandwich and Surge to drink. I've waited 18 years to drink Surge. I believe it was 18 years ago when they discontinued it. Good Burger. Surge was just as good as I remember.
I tried the promotion to get a Whopper for 1 cent by using the mobile app at a mcdonalds and it just kept telling me to get within 600 feet of a mcdonalds.
So I gave up, and just went to burger king (which is right across the street) and used a coupon.
Our very unique Burger King was unfortunately destroyed by fire a year ago. A car slammed into the doors and caught fire.
The unique round building had to be torn down. It will soon be replaced by a new Burger King although a more classic rectangle-shaped one:

Annnnnnnddd.....it's gone. I drove by this location yesterday and the BK has closed.
All logos and identifying marks have been stripped from the building. It barely made it five
years, directly across the street from where a previous BK closed over thirty years ago.
Someone on their site selection team really screwed-up apparently. It's was a brand-new
BK concept building and they had to spend a lot on property acquision and demolition as
well. Expensive mistake.
